This week the Makeup Wars Team is sharing the beauty products that we feel live up to the hype. I’ll admit there are many hyped beauty products that I’m not a big fan of. Maybe a post for another day. These are the ones that didn’t disappoint and that I still love enough to have in regular rotation.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation – This is the newest hyped product on my list and I’m still obsessed with it. Amazing coverage, lasting power, and it looks gorgeous on the skin.
Beauty Blender Sponge – Love. Love. Love my Beauty Blenders. This is all I use for applying foundation on clients and what I predominately use on myself. I adore these sponges and I’ve never found one that compares in quality. The Real Techniques orange sponge is the closes I’ve found.
RCMA No Color Powder – This powder is crazy good for the price. It really does live up to the hype. It’s not so spectacular that I won’t continue to experiment with other powders but it’s pretty damn fantastic.
Urban Decay Setting Spray – I have used the Skindinavia Setting Sprays for years in my professional kit and the Urban Decay Setting Sprays are (or at least were) made by Skindinavia. These setting sprays truly do extend the wear of your makeup and take any powderyness out of your makeup look.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed – These highlighters truly are gorgeous! They can offer quite an intense sheen depending on the shade but never look glittery or sparkly. I adore them.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler – I have never found an eyelash curler that performs as effectively and comfortably for me and my clients as the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. I recommend it to everyone.
Bioderma Sensibio H20 – This micellar water cleanser is such a staple for me in both my pro kit and at home. I can use it to remove makeup on clients effectively without needing to rinse and without leaving any residue behind. It’s also perfect for travel and for removing makeup swatches that I’ve been photographing for the blog.
Urban Decay Naked Palettes – with the exception of the Naked Smoky Palette I love, and regularly use, all of my Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I think they are excellent quality and the kind of palettes that don’t require adding other shadows to your look. I love the orignal, Naked 2, Naked 3, Naked Heat, and all the Naked Basics palettes.
MAC Painterly Paint Pot – This is a staple in both my pro kit and my personal collection. Whether you prefer the more pink toned Painterly or yellow toned Soft Ochre these cream shadow make the perfect waterproof eyeshadow bases that also conceal any imperfections on your lids.
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow – This really is a stunning bronzer and highlighter duo. The shades are neutral and flattering on my fair skin and the feel and finish is truly luxe. I often travel with this duo as it’s handy having both products in one compact.
