The 5 Couleurs Dior Fall 2014 Collection is all about the House of Dior reinventing the 5 Couleurs Dior Palette. The 5 Couleurs Palettes are wardrobes for the eye with key pieces and accessory shades. The centre shade of the palette is the essential shade that sets the tone for the look. The palettes contain both complementary and contrasting shades for a variety of looks. The top trio of shades are ideal for a softer daytime look while the lower trio of shades are deeper and more sultry. I love to just work from all over the palette and use all 5 shades if I can. I can’t help but want to use them all!
The 5 looks in the collection each focus on one of the couturier’s five favourite colours: Red, grey, pink, black, and blue. Lets take a look at the Dior Fall 2014 Pied-de-Poule Black Look.

Each look includes a 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette, a Rouge Dior Lipstick, and a Dior Vernis Nail Polish.
Pied-de-Poule Black

- Rouge Dior 977 Pied-de-Poule
- Dior Vernis 902 Pied-de-Poule
The 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 096 Pied-de-Poule is probably the palette that will most attract fall collection addicts. Dark and sexy this palette just screams fall glamour. The centre essential shade is a matte black with good pigmentation. Believe it or not you don’t have to go full on smokey with this palette. By applying the shimmering ivory shade all over the lid and blending one of the darker shades onto the outer third of your lid you can get a much more daytime appropriate look.

The shades in the Pied-de-Poule palette include a dark satin navy, shimmering ivory, dark matte blackened blue with gold sparkle, satin blackened forest green with subtle golden shimmer, and a nicely pigmented matte black. All the shades have good pigmentation with the exception being the bottom left shade which is bit dry and needs some building up. The shadows wear a full day on me without any noticeable fading or creasing. I think this quint is probably my least favourite of the five in the collection. While the shades are stunning to behold in the pan the bottom three shades look fairly indistinguishable on the lid. I wish the bottom right shade had more shimmer to at least stand out a bit more. My favourite shades are the top three for sure. I actually really love the look of just the ivory and dark shimmering navy together.
The Rouge Dior Lipstick in Peid-de-Poule is a dramatic pairing with the intense palette. It is a vampy burgundy red. It has a fabulous sheen and like all Rouge Dior lipsticks it is long wearing, hydrating, and comfortable to wear. One of my favourite lipstick formulas. The Dior Vernis in Peid-de-Poule is a sophisticated grey-beige, or greige, and I see it becoming one of my favourite nude polishes of the season. The Dior Vernis are one of my favourite nail polish formulas. They offer perfect opaque coverage in a maximum of two coats and the tapered brush makes application a breeze.
Swatches are Palette top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, centre. Rouge Dior. Dior Vernis.

I created two quick eye looks with the palette. One features just the ivory and dark navy on the top of the palette while the second look features the bottom right shade on the lid, bottom left shade on the outer v, and centre shade in the crease. As you can see they all kind of merge into one dark shade on the eye.
