Serum foundation are all the rage right now, but there is one thing about them that drives me crazy. The packaging! I hate the dropper style packaging for serum foundation as it is so messy. The new Pür HYDRAfluid Water Serum Foundation ($39 US) has solved the messy issue with beautiful fine tip, tube packaging.

The new HYDRAfluid foundation is all about hydration. I’m sure you already figured that out from the product name but hey, I’m just putting it out there! The formula features an encapsulated water complex that delivers Swiss Alps-sourced water to hydrate the skin throughout the day. The foundation is very fluid, of course being a serum foundation, and is easy to blend into the skin. It offers sheer to medium coverage depending on your application method. I find fingers and brush to offer sheer coverage, while a damp beautyblender offers more medium coverage. The formula also contains Ceretin Complex to help smooth, firm, and lift the skin, as well as Vitamin E to soothe and offer antioxidant benefits.
Given the hydrating formula and somewhat greasy, yet lightweight, texture I definitely recommend this foundation for only normal to dry skin types. If you have oily or combination skin I think you will find the HYDRAfluid too dewy.
The foundation is currently offered in five shades.
- Light
- Medium
- Tan
- Dark
- Deep

Given my dry skin I was excited about this formula, but unfortunately the shade Light is too dark and peachy for my skin tone. If they ever expand the shade selection to include a Fair shade I’m sure that would be a much better match for me.
Since this foundation has a sheerer coverage I think it pairs really well under the Pür 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup on top to set, and add further coverage.
Have you tried out the PUR HYDRAfluid Water Serum Foundation? Are you a fan of serum foundations?
