Facial Oils have come a long way in the past several years. They have gone from being a relatively niche skincare product to being a readily available beauty staple, accessible via almost every brand from drugstore to high end. As someone with dry skin I have been a longtime fan of facial oils. But it is becoming increasingly more understood that facial oils aren’t just for those with dry skin. There are beautiful options out there for every skin type and the skincare benefits abound in introducing a quality oil to your routine. I thought I would share with you several new beauty oils that have crossed my desk over the past few months that have become part of my rotation.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil For Face, Body and Hair ($36 CAD/100ml)- This lovely smelling oil is conveniently packaged in a spray bottle for easy application to hair, body, as well as the face. It includes a potent blend of moisturizing ingredients, including tsubaki, grapeseed, olive, avocado and sunflower seed oils, to hydrate without greasiness. I was excited to see as well that, given it is marketed towards hair as well, that is doesn’t contain silicones.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate ($51 CAD/$46 US) is a beautiful lightweight facial oil with a fresh, energizing scent that revives the skin. I love this concept of a facial oil designed for use in the mornings. It’s quick absorbing, and refreshes your skin and helps protect it against daily stressors. The feature actives are:
- Tamanu Botanical Oil, sourced from the nut of the fruit of the French Polynesian Tamanu tree, helps to reduce the appearance of daily damage as well as replenish and soothe skin.
- Sunflower Botanical Oil helps to strengthen skin’s barrier while to improving skin smoothness, texture and hydration.
- Ginger Root Essential Oil helps defend skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors with antioxidant protection.
Skyn ICELAND Arctic Face Oil ($39.50 CAD/30ml) is composed of 99.9% Camelina Oil that is naturally sourced and cold-pressed . Camelina Oil is extracted from the Camelina Sativa plants which is an arctic plant that thrives in sub-zero temperatures and has a unique composition of 9 Essential Fatty Acids that enable it to survive such harsh conditions. It has an Omega 3:6:9 ratio that is ideal for regulating skin function, defending against free radicals, and enhancing the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil ($35 US/$41 CAD) This facial oil isn’t a pure oil blend but it has a light silky texture that absorbs quickly into the skin so it is perfect for those that want to enjoy the benefits of oils without going full out. This treatment oil works to lock in moisture, hydrate, smooth skin’s texture, and give a youthful radiance.

The main scent I get from this oil is from the Argan oil.
