Guerlain Météorites. The iconic violet scented, breathtakingly beautiful pearls. I think one of the most collected items in the beauty lover community are the Guerlain Meteorites. The limited edition versions released with seasonal collections are always much anticipated. They remain one of the loveliest cosmetic products you can display on your vanity. The Guerlain Météorites Perles de Légende ($79 CAD) Light Revealing Pearls of Powder for Holiday 2016 are a beautiful addition to any Meteorite collector’s display.

The Guerlain Shalimar Collection for Holiday 2016 was created with Guerlain’s Shalimar icon, model Natalia Vodianova. I love the East Indian inspiration for this collection with it’s rich colours and gilded ornamentation. The pearly, deep blue packaging with gold accents is beautiful and such a refreshing change from the typical holiday collections.

The Holiday 2016 Météorites are a mix of three kinds of pearls:
- Gold – to warm and illuminate the cheekbones
- Indian Blue – to correct skin irregularities
- Indian Pink – to revive cheeks natural colour and bring freshness to the complexion

The seasonal pearls are usually more shimmery than the permanent versions in the product range. I was nervous that I would find the Holiday 2016 Météorites Perles de Légende too shimmery to use all over my face. I thought I might have to refrain to using it on special occasions and evenings out. I was pleasanty surprised to discover my complexion was left looking radiant and glowing with a light application with no noticeable shimmer. I am not opposed to wearing this on a daily basis at all. It brings new life to my dull, dry skin during these dreary, ever shortening days.

The Guerlain Terra India Bronzing Powder ($64 CAD) is the same shade as the Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in shade 00, with ultra-fine golden shimmer and embossed with a design inspired by Indian Drawing. The bronzer is housed in a mirrored compact in the breathtaking deep pearly indigo blue of the the Shalimar Holiday collection.

The light tan shade is perfect for bringing some healthy colour back into my skin over the fall and winter months. I usually go for matte bronzers but I was surprised by how much I love the subtle glow this finley milled bronzer brings to my complexion. It is incredibly flattering and it has me rethinking my aversion to shimmering bronzers.
Below is Terra India swatched on the left and the Météorites Perles de Légende on the right. You can’t really see the effect of the meteorites in this low natural lighting on my fair skin. It is a lovely effect, and as you can see by the swatches, not at all glittery. Both are brush swatches.

The Guerlain Holiday 2016 Collection does not disappoint. At least the complexion products I’ve tried. The launch also includes Souffle d’Or de Shalimar perfumed shimmer powder, Precious Light Illuminator, a stunning hot pink KissKiss lipstick, a deep red Rouge G lipstick, a gold and sapphire Ecrin 2 Couleurs eyeshadow duo, and a glittering gold eyeliner.
