Today on Makeup Wars we are featuring some products from It Cosmetics. I have heard so many great things about this brand over the past year or so and was delighted to finally test out some of the line. One of the things I have heard the most raves about are the It Cosmetics brushes and I will be reviewing their Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Brush, French Boutique Blush Brush, as well as the CC+™ Radiance Palette.

The It Cosmetics CC+™ Radiance Palette ($38 US/CAD) is an all in one complexion palette offering a colour correcting brightening powder, matte blush, and matter bronzer all in one sleek compact. The powders are infused with anti-aging peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, algae plus vitamins A, B, C, E, and colour correcting pigments. They are talc free. I really love the idea of having all the complexion powders you need in one handy palette.

The packaging is beautiful. The sturdy magnetic cardboard palette has a gorgeous holographic effect finish and offers a nice sized mirror. I love that there is no wasted space with included brushes or unnecessary spacing between pans.

The CC+ Brightening Powder in Radiant Light is designed for use all over the face to even tone, brighten, and blur pores. The powder has a lovely silky feel and a satin finish. I feel it is best suited for those with light-medium to medium skintones. It is a little too dark to be used all over very fair skin like mine as a setting powder but can be used on higher points of the face to give some natural and subtle extra colour to the complexion. I love this very natural way of adding colour and warmth to my skin. On dark skin tones it may work as a subtle highlighter. Hopefully some other Makeup Wars members can chime in on whether they had any success with that.

The CC+ Blush Stain in Love is a matte coral blush that is gloriously pigmented and smooth. It may prove a bit tricky to use for those with very fair skin or with limited blending experience as it is VERY pigmented. The matte powder is very smooth and gives a natural satin finish on the skin that doesn’t look at all chalky or flat.

The CC+ Matte Bronzer in Warmth is also very smooth and pigmented. I really do like the formula of these powders. No powdery kick up or chalkiness. The shade isn’t too orange but is fairly deep and a little muddy on my skin tone. A light hand is required. The natural satin finish is very flattering and I think this should work beautifully on those with a deeper skin tone than mine.

Swatches in direct sun (so a touch washed out):

Overall this is a lovely palette with a really nice powder formula. This is a great palette for a range of skin tones from fair to deep. As long as those with fair skin tones are comfortable using a light hand, (these amazing brushes take care of most of the work for you), then you can achieve beautiful results.
Next we have the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Brush ($48 US/CAD). Oh baby this ultra-plus, ultra-luxe brush is truly lovely. I have been using it almost daily since receiving it. It has a large fluffy, yet tapered, shape. It works beautifully for applying setting powder and even applying bronzers and blushes. The hairs are oh so soft and distribute and blend powders evenly for an airbrush finish. It Cosmetics brushes are cruelty free and while I don’t usually like synthetic brushes I adore these. They are so soft and natural feeling.

The French Boutique Blush Brush ($34.50/$ CAD) is cruelty free and has the same ultra luxe and soft feel as the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Brush. It has an angled shape for precise application and the soft, plush hair makes blending a breeze. The unique handle is really easy gripe giving you even more control.

I need to have more It Cosmetics Brushes in my life. They are just as fantastic as I had hoped from all the raves I have heard about them. Some other products I am really anxious to try is the CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and the Celebration Illumination Powder foundation. I must say that I really love that the pricing is the same in Canada as in the US. You can find It Cosmetics products in Canada at TheShoppingChannel.com. The ItCosmetics.com website also ships to Canada as well as the US. In the US you can find It Cosmetics at Ulta and QVC.
