The Clarins Sunkissed Summer 2016 Collection is all about the Summer Essentials for a sunkissed makeup look in four easy steps.
Step 1 is of course a golden, sunkissed complexion. The limited edition Clarins Bronzing Powder & Blush ($36 US/$42 CAD) is the perfect way to achieve a summer glow in one handy, and beautiful, compact. The translucent amber hued compact reveals a sun motif design. The powder itself is also embossed with the same design.
The centre is a lovely apricot blush shade while the outer ring features three shades to sculpt and warm the skin. Two matte, and one shimmer. The powder is firm, with no powder kick-up, and very silky. The formula is enriched with plant ingredients, as well as Clarins exclusive aunt-pollution complex.
Step 2 is shimmery, waterproof eyes. I love metallic earth tones for a summer makeup look. It compliments bronzed skin so beautifully. The limited edition Clarins Waterproof Eyeshadow ($22 US/$24 CAD) is the perfect cream shadow for effortless summer makeup. There are four available shades offering a pearl shimmer finish that can be sheered down to a gentle illuminating glow, or built up for more metallic drama. The four available shades are:
- 01 Gold Peach
- 02 Golden Sand
- 03 Silver Taupe
- 04 Copper Brown
I have Golden Sand and Silver Taupe. I love the long wearing shimmering finish and hygienic squeeze tube packaging.
Step 3 is beautify the lips. The sun and heat can be drying to the lips in the summer so a nourishing oil like the Clarins Lip Comfort Oil ($25 US/$23 CAD), available in 02 Raspberry and 03 Cherry for a hint of colour, is the perfect nourishing treatment. The collection also include there new limited edition shades of Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Shimmer ($25 US/$20 CAD). These melting gel lip treatments enriched with shea butter have been a long time fave Clarins product and these new translucent, glossy shades with a hint of shimmer are the perfect complement to a sunkissed summer look.
The three new shades are:
- 10 Pink Shimmer
- 11 Orange Shimmer
- 12 Red Shimmer
I have the shade Orange Shimmer and I am absolutely loving the hint of coral glow it gives my lips and the delicious scent/flavor.
Step 4 of your sunkissed look is to set your makeup so it lasts all day in the heat and humidity. The new Clarins Fix’ Make-Up ($27 US/$30 CAD) has got to be the most beautifully packaged setting mist I’ve ever seen. It looks like an elegant perfume in it’s luxurious glass bottle. It sprays with an ultra-fine mist and doesn’t leave any tacky residue. It also has a gorgeous scent. I love having this on display on my vanity for easy access as the final step in my makeup routine or for a quick refresh.
You also can’t forget adequate sun protection no matter what your day has in store. Clarins has such an impressive sun care range and they have expanded it even further with this new Clarins Sun Care Milk-Lotion Spray SPF 20 ($36 CAD). It is non greasy, non sticky, and water-resistant. The spray is just a method of dispensing the product as you do, of course, still have to rub it into the skin. It feels very light and silky and has the most incredible scent. It actually makes me want to apply sunscreen! And like all Clarins sun care products, this new Milk-Lotion contains aloe leaves for added hydration.
