Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Taupe is the perfect addition to my collection. Did I need a taupe eye liner? Well not particularly, but that’s the beauty of this eyeliner. It isn’t really what I would consider taupe. It is a beautiful, shimmery plum. It’s exactly what I needed for lining my lower lash line when doing my various purple and plum eye looks. Thanks to the reviews on Natural N Chick Makeup and The Beauty Look Book I was able to overlook the Taupe shade name of this liner and realize it was just what I needed! The day after ordering the review on Cafe Makeup affirmed that I would be happy with my decision.
From the Chanel website:
Waterproof, smudge-proof eyeliner delivers long-lasting definition with a twist of the wrist: Colour winds up when you need it, winds down when you don’t. Gentle, soft, silicone-enriched formula delivers smooth, even lining. A built-in sharpener at the opposite end detaches for quick refreshes.
I’ve always just lined my lower lash line with eye shadow but lately I’ve had issues with my eyes (particularly the right) watering. I’ve never really been a pencil eye liner person and I thought I’d sworn off buying any more $30 eye liners but after falling in love with the iron clad wear of Rose Platine I’ve come to realize that they are a valued inclusion to my routine.
Rose Platine is more fitting to the Taupe shade name with a silvered taupe hue with warm reflections. Rose Platine has a more glittery finish compared to Taupe’s shimmery one.
When compared to Le Metier de Beaute Alexandrite True Color eye shadow Chanel Taupe has far less red tones. It shares a lot in common with Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicate Hummingbird in tone and finish but is a bit less purple.
I am in love with this and foresee it getting much more use in my routine than Rose Platine and Khaki Platine have.
