At first I thought I was going to be able to avert some of the Fall collections with my credit card unscathed but my fellow bloggers were out to get me! I could not resist ordering one of the Giorgio Armani Fall Jacquard eye shadow palettes. Charleston Girl over at The Best Things in Beauty is determined to make me order more form Armani’s Fall collection with her beautiful swatches and reviews of the collection. We’ll see how long I can hold out.
From the Neiman Marcus website:
Jacquard – intricately woven color.
Light, transparency, density and color, woven together create the luxuriously sophisticated jacquard look for Fall 2011.
The famous jacquard fabrics, made primarily of silk, were constructed in a variety of complex weaves juxtaposing light, color and texture in a highly sophisticated design.
From textiles to cosmetics…Never before was Armani fabric artistry so close to makeup.
Giorgio Armani Cosmetics premiers a new approach to color with translucent colors in non opaque, luminous bases for infinite blending of vibrant muted colors. From the softest, evanescent color veil, to an intense sheer color vibrancy.
First of all the woven pattern is absolutely stunning. It really is beautiful. I also love that no space is wasted in Giorgio Armani compacts with the inclusion of useless sponge tip applicators. I love the colour combination of the Jacquard palette. The slightly green tinged beige is versatile and beautiful. I did experience some fallout from the fine shimmer in this shade. The sage and moss toned greens have a more shimmery effect and can be built to a more frosted finish. The deep purple is a really nice matte that is smooth enough to have a more satin effect on the skin. I really love the shades and the pigmentation was good but I found the formula to be a bit dry. I wouldn’t really call it chalky but it’s drier than the buttery smooth formulas I prefer. Much different than the formula in the Summer Mediterranean palette. Because of this dry texture I didn’t find they blended as nicely as I would like. I will have to play more with this quad because after my first face of the day using it (stay tuned) I’m not really inclined to keep it.

I ordered this from the Neiman Marcus website.
