I am so excited that my online order arrived swiftly. Not that I would have driven an hour and a half to wait in line the day this arrived in stores but it is comforting to know I got it just as early! I don’t often photograph packaging when I review products but the packaging for the Urban Decay Naked3Palette ($62 CAD/$52 US) is so beautiful it really builds the anticipation to reveal what’s inside. I am really loving the sturdy rose gold tin the Naked 3 palette is housed in. It latches securely and I know my pretty new rose hued shadows will be safe from harm inside.
While this new selection of rose toned neutrals will flatter any skin tone I feel they are especially suited to us fair of skin. The range of shades from light to dark with an impressive three matte shades means this palette offers an endless array of looks from everyday to night out. I am really excited to see that the Naked 3 palette offers an almost matte nude shade as a base. I usually have to dig out a separate base shade when using the Naked palettes as I prefer completely matte or close to it for this purpose. I haven’t had a chance to test all these shades for wear but after swatching so far I can see only Dust and Blackheart posing any issues. Dust is aptly named as this shade seems to just leave a sheer dusting of glitter on the skin. I can see it ending up all over my face. Blackheart is a stunning shade but unless patted on you lose the pretty red sparkle for the most part and end up with only a smoky black with a sparse amount of sparkle. The mattes are lovely and smooth. For the most part the shades noted as satins are really shimmers. I’m sure if you’re familiar with Urban Decay you know their satins tend to be a little more shimmery than most would consider a true satin. Darkside on the other hand is a true satin and stunning to boot. This palette is full of win for me so far!
The included shades are:
- STRANGE – pale neutral pink matte-satin
- DUST – pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter
- BURNOUT – light pinky-peach satin

It also includes an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and NEW anti-aging). Each sample should have enough product to last a week.
Stay tuned next week for some tutorials and looks using the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette as well as an update on the performance of the eyeshadows.
