Being very fair I have shied away from bronzers for quite a while now. It used to be a regular part of my look but a couple years ago I embraced my pale skin and hadn’t looked back. Well the rave reviews of the Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer on Cafe Makeup and The Beauty Look Book had me reconsider my aversion to bronzers. Well I love the Edward Bess bronzer. It is very natural on my fair skin and does not turn muddy or orange at all and has converted my into a bronzer lover! Now in prior years the Summer Collections were always ones that I didn’t show as much interest in as they typically focus on the Bronze Goddess sort of theme. Well this year several companies have come out with beautiful bronzers that work well for even us fair skinned gals. I have, and am loving, both the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel in Rose Bronze and the Dior Diorskin Nude Glow Healthy Glow Summer Powder in 001 Aurora. They both offer a very natural look with a subtle luminous glow. They can also both be used as a blush which is not something I would advise with the Edward Bess Daydream bronzer. Now I’m sure there are many of you wondering…do I need all of these. Well, none of us really “need” them of course but in the world of us make-up addicts…YES you do need all three. The are all very different from each other and result in a totally unique look. The Edward Bess Daydream is a very neutral bronzer. Not too warm or muddy. Chanel Bronze Rose is of course, more rose toned. Dior Aurora is decidedly peachy.
Here are some swatches to show the difference. I did notice that to the naked eye Dior appeared more peachy on my skin than what is reflected in this picture. It will still give you an idea of the different tones of these bronzers which was even more noticeable to me IRL than in this picture.
Top to bottom: Dior Aurora, Chanel Bronze Rose, Edward Bess Daydream:
