The shu uemura Ambush Spring 2017 Collection is all about stunning metallics and vibrant colour. shu uemura has partnered with Tokyo-based jewelry brand AMBUSH for this collection. AMBUSH is a brand created by jewelry designer Yoon and DJ Verbal that embraces the Tokyo aesthetic and pop art inspired design. I am loving both the packaging and the shade offerings in this colourful limited edition collection.
The collection includes:
shu uemura Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil (my holy grail of holy grails) in both the 450ml and 150 ml sized ($99/$49 CAD).
shu uemura Anti-Oxi+ Skin Refining Cleansing Oil (my holy grail of holy grails) in both the 450ml and 150 ml sized ($93/$46 CAD).
shu uemura Stage Performer Glow Creator ($45 CAD/30ml) – This is moisturizing primer with a subtle golden shimmer to give your skin a radiant glow.
shu uemura Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine Lipsticks in Ambush Freedom and Ambush Spirit and Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipsticks in Ambush Life and Ambush Love ($36 CAD).
The Rouge Unlimited lipstick formulas are some of my faves. Whether you are looking for a glossy translucent sheer formula, or a comfortable soft matte look, these colours will coordinate perfectly with your AMBUSH summer look.
shu uemura Eye Foil Liquid Eyeshadow ($39 CAD) This is a new product for shu uemura with 8 permanent shades in the range and one limited edition blue shade (Dreamcatchers) that is part of the AMBUSH collection.
I am in love with these! They have a thin, watery texture but are ultra pigmented. They have a highly metallic finish and are incredibly easy to work with. A little goes a long way and they blend onto the eye evenly, and easily, even with just your finger.
They set/dry completely down shortly after being applied. I didn’t experience any creasing and only moderate, yet even, fading through the day. If you rub your eyes you will get a small amount of transfer, as you would even with a powder shadow, but it’s very minimal. These are just stunning and the shade offerings are incredibly pretty. LOVE!
The shades are:
- Champagne Gold
- Pink Gold
- Copper
- Bronze
- Purpurite
- Dark Bronze (not shown)
- Gun Metal (not shown)
- Dreamcatchers (limited edition)
There is a beautiful gold limited edition AMBUSH Custom Quad Palette ($17 CAD) that you can fill with some of the limited edition eye and cheek colours in the collection (or permanent shades!).
Shown is the palette filled with the limited edition blush shade ($19 CAD) Ambushed along with two of the four limited edition eyeshadows ($19 CAD ea), VVV (a pink duochrome white) and Holy Mountain (a smoky shimmering brown).
A really cool product in the collection is the limited edition shades of shu uemura Eyebrow Manicure ($26 CAD) in Classics Gold and Crush Silver.
These brow gels are so freaking FUN! I can’t wait to use the silver! I think the gold will be such a pretty and unexpected touch on golden blondes and brunettes.
shu uemura Wonder Worker ($ CAD) is part of shu eumura’s regular line and is a lovely air dry primer that detangles, conditions, and tames frizz for soft, touchable spring/summer hair.
shu uemura Blotting Paper ($25 CAD) Blotting papers are a spring/summer essential and these cool black ones in gold packaging actually reveal the AMBUSH logo when you blot!
The collection also includes a Lasting Soft Gel Pencil in Matte Black ($36 CAD) and a Gold Compact Case ($22 CAD) not shown.
