I have two of the eyeshadow palettes from the upcoming shu uemura Chocolat Donna Autumn Winter 2012 collection to share with you. I am starting with the one that first grabbed my attention. The stunning Orange & Pistachio palette ($85 CAD).
The packaging is small, sleek, and compact. I love that these palettes contain an amazing 6 colour selections (at 1.0 g each) and they take up so little room. The compact does include a mirror and thankfully the lack of sponge tipped applicators makes for a space saving (and refillable!) design. The gorgeous gold script design on deep chocolate brown packaging is very sophisticated an umm… yummy. Like a glam little chocolate bar!
The shu uemura Orange & Pistachio palette contains a glittery and fiery copper orange, matte pistachio green with small green sparkles, shimmering peach beige, shimmering taupe, rich chocolate brown matte, and a deep matte espresso brown. All the shades are smooth and pigmented with the exception of the orange which is a chunkier glitter and therefore a little harder to pick up the pigment and it produces a bit of fallout. A good base helps with this immensely though. The mattes are particularly impressive with their rich, buttery texture. I actually had to rub down the swatch of the chocolate brown shade as my swatch was far too deep because the pigmentation is so exceptional.
I am so in love with this palette. The orange and pistachio green shades make it so fun and playful while the other four shades that make up the palette are such excellent quality and gorgeous neutrals that you could create endless looks with them day after day. This palette will be taking up prime residence in my collection.
The collection will be available exclusively at Holt Renfrew this August 2012.
