I shared with you back in January that Real Techniques Brushes by Samantha Chapman (Pixiwoo) had finally arrived in Canada. I have been testing out the Core Collection and I’m delighted to share my thoughts on these brushes along with the exciting news that they have hit the shelves at Wamart!

The Core Collection ($18 US/ $27.99 CAD) set includes four full size brushes and a stand/case.
- detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition
- pointed foundation brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
- buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
- contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish

The bristles are made of synthetic Taklon and are 100% cruelty free. They are super soft and blend and apply products beautifully. I had very high hopes for these brushes given their cult status in the beauty world and they did not disappoint. I haven’t found much use for the Pointed Foundation Brush but the Contour Brush has made it into my daily routine as my brush of choice for highlighter application. I have really enjoyed applying liquid foundation with the Buffing Brush and also using it for applying powder foundation, blushes, and bronzer. It is another brush from the set getting almost daily use. The Detailer Brush is indeed perfect for precise concealer and lipstick application. I love this multitask brush. I can’t wait to try more brushes from the Real Techniques line now that they have arrived in Canada. I will be picking up another one of these sets for my pro kit as well.

The Real Techniques Core Collection, Starter, and Travel Essentials Sets are available in Canada now through FarleyCo Canada and at Walmart!
