If you love shimmer, shine, and everything bling when it comes to your makeup then you are going to love the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Powder and Star Lit Liquid. So many sparkling pretties I don’t even know where to start.
The MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Liquid ($24 US/$30 CAD) is a very interesting product. They are packaged in a little bottle that is very reminiscent of a nail polish bottle right down to the brush applicator. These are basically glitter and shimmer suspended in liquid and must be shaken well prior to use. You can apply these directly to the eye with the included brush, or you can apply some to the back of your hand and pat on the eye with your finger or a brush, which is my preferred method.
These liquids can be applied sheerly for a veil of sparkle or layered more opaquely for intense glitter and shine. I don’t like to build them up too much as then they can be prone to cracking and flaking. They dry to a non sticky light finish. The formula is water based and not waterproof so they remove easily. These are more intended for special occasion, night out types of looks so don’t expect them to offer all day budge-proof, fade-proof wear. They are marketed for use on eyes and cheeks but I prefer to use these just on my eyes as they are out of my “glitter comfort zone” for highlighting my face.

I think the Star Lit Liquids are a beautiful product to have on hand when you want that extra special added touch of sparkle and shine to your look.
The MAKE UP FOR EVER Star Lit Powder ($21 US/$25 CAD) is an ultra fine loose powder that can be used to highlight eyes, cheeks, and even lips. These powders offer stunning multi-faceted shimmer without being glittery. The formula includes Pure Mother of Pearl for a luminous, light-catching effect. These offer high shine and multidimensional colour with a refined shimmering finish. They can be used dry or even applied wet to amplify the shine and opacity.
The powder comes in little jars with a narrow opening to avoid mess. You can dip a smaller brush or the tip of your finger into the opening or tap some out into the cap. Kinda messy but I still prefer this over a wide open top, loose shadow style of packaging. There are eight shades available.
