Isn’t she gorgeous? I haven’t been much of a Dior quint fan in the past. I’ve often found them too sheer and shimmery for my tastes. Golden Savannah on the other hand… Holy #$%& it is beautiful. If these are your kinds of shades then this palette is a must have. Rich, silky, pigmented, buttery, dimensional goodness.
I love the Dior packaging. The deep blue compact with the CD initials that seem to glow from within just exudes class. I much prefer it over shiny gold and silver compacts that scratch and finger print so easily.
Just look at these shades. A smooth camel satin tan, glowing coppery brown, shimmery khaki that has the most beautiful complexity, a rich cool brown with a hint of khaki, and an ivory glitter. I know there have been some complaints about the centre shade but I am MADLY in love with it. All you need to do is use a sticky base and it is phenomenal. I used Too Faced Glitter Glue Shadow Insurance but I can also use Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. I applied it to the inner corner of my eye and outwards a bit and I didn’t have one speck of fallout applying it with the stickier base. It was dense, gorgeous, sparkle that lit up my eyes. I will post a Face of the Day soon so you can see this amazing quint in action.
I couldn’t help but post a plethora of photos because Golden Savannah is just so pretty.
Ingredients:
Swatches in strong natural light. The center shade is swatches WITHOUT a base in these photos. Still pretty darn amazing if you ask me.
I purchased this at Shoppers Drug Mart. The Dior Golden Jungle Fall 2012 Collection can also be found in Canada at The Bayand Holt Renfew. In the US you can find the collection at Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
