I do believe I may have squealed when this package arrived. I have been so excited for the release of the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection. The cherry and neutral toned palette is incredibly appealing to me and possibly one of my favorite colour palettes. I was hoping I would fall madly in love with this eyeshadow palette and I most certainly have. I do believe it is even better than I expected!
Let’s start off with the eyeshadow palette because it is of course the most anticipated piece in the collection. The Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette ($66 CAD) contains 12 eyeshadow shades alone with a beautiful full sized, double ended eyeshadow brush.
What makes this palette such an instant favorite for me goes beyond just the shades and tones in this release. The fact that this palette includes 7 matte eyeshadow shades has me incredibly excited. You could create a full, cohesive eyeshadow palette with just the matte shades alone. There is a pale matte for a base and brow bone, multiple soft and mid-tone matte shades for the crease, and deep matte shades for contrast. Add to that 5 stunning shimmering and metallic shadow ranging from bright to deep and you have an incredibly versatile and gorgeous eyeshadow palette. There will never be a need to pull out another palette or any other shades to complete your look. Everything you need is within this beautifully packaged eyeshadow palette. You can easily create a full-on berry toned look or go for something more neutral toned.
Speaking of packaging, the packaging on the Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette is gorgeous. There is a double layered effect to the lid with raised rose gold lettering on the top and metallic cherries in the same shades as the eyeshadows inside revealed from the lower layer.
The 12 eyeshadow shades are:
- Hot Spot – ivory matter
- Caution – soft neutral beige matte
- Bang Bang – shimmering pink with gold shift and iridescent micro-sparkle (that’s a mouthful isnt it!)
- Feelz – soft dusty rose matte
- Juicy – soft warm peach matte
- Turn On – pale metallic rose shimmer
- Ambitious – metallic rose copper
- Bing – deep mauve matte
- Devilish – reddish plum matte
- Young Love – metallic cranberry
- Drunk Dial – deep metallic burgundy
- Privacy – deep brownish-plum matte
The formulation of all these shadows is fabulous. They all are smooth and richly pigmented. I will have more to add once I have a chance to play around with the shades more.
The collection includes three new limited edition shades of Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($22 CAD). The packaging is metallic pink with a cherry detail. The shades are:
- Juicy – light peach-pink with copper micro-shimmer (metallized)
- Devilish – berry pink with tonal shimmer (metallized)
- Cherry – deep berry wine (cream)
I’m not generally a fan of the metallized finish lipsticks so I likely won’t wear Devilish but Juicy has such a beautiful effect I may try layering over some other lipsticks. Cherry is an absolutely stunning vampy berry.
The two limited edition Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils ($25 CAD) in the collection are:
- Black Market – black satim
- Love Drug – deep wine metallic
Black Market require some layering as it isn’t super pigmented but Love Drug is GORGEOUS. I am so excited for this shade!
The collection also includes a Naked Cherry Highlight and Blush Palette and Travel Sized All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray (not shown).
The collection will be available on the Urban Decay website and in Urban Decay stores on September 24th, 2018. Sephora.ca and Sephora.com along with beautyboutique.ca will have it available online October 5th, 2018. You can find it in store at Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart on October 15th, 2018. What will you be picking up from this collection?
