The Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2014 Collection brings us many new lip products to swoon over. One of the (many) things YSL excels at is lip products. Some of my all time favourite lip formulas are from the brand. I have three new lip products from the Spring collection to show you. Two of the four new permanent shades of Rouge Volupté lipstick, N° 31 Fuchsia Tourbillon/Fuchsia Storm and N° 32 Corail Jalouse/Jealous Coral as well as the also now permanent, Rouge pur Couture Vernis a Lévres Glossy Stain in N° 33 Bourgogne Artistique.
The Rouge Volupté lipstick ($39 CAD$34 US) formula is a highly pigmented, ultra creamy formula. It leaves lips looking plump and feeling hydrated. The opaque pigments always make an impact. I prefer less slip to my lipsticks but if you love a silky, highly creamy formula than Rouge Volupté is for you. Wear time varies greatly depending on what you’re doing since they do transfer because of the creaminess. If you aren’t eating, drinking, etc. then you can get a few hours of wear. These new shades for spring are so playful and bright that I am yearning for warm weather and finding myself beginning to love this formula!
One of my all time favourite lip formulas is the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge pur Couture Vernis a Lévres Glossy Stain ($36 CAD/$34 US). Bourgogne Artistique seems a strange colour choice for spring for me but hey, who cares! It is one sexy, vampy wine that will pair nicely with the soft spring shades of the Pivoine Crush Eye Palette. This is a shade I can love year long. It looks amazing on fair skin!
The YSL Spring 2014 Collection becomes available in Canada this month, February 2014, at Holt Renfrew, Hudson’s Bay, and select Sephora and Murale locations.
