Have you ever tried the Yves Saint Laurent Creme de Blush before? If you haven’t then you MUST. It is the most exquisite cream blush formula I have ever experienced. It has this incredible, light, silky texture and absolutely zero stickiness or tackiness. What this means is that you can tap or blend on like a standard cream blush or you can apply and blend with a blush with ease. Even after you have set your makeup. I have a bad habit of applying my foundation, setting with powder, and then going “Oh crap, I wanted to wear cream blush today. Well I guess I’m wearing powder.” Usually there is no turning back. Well with the YSL Creme de Blush you can apply it in any number of methods, even on a powdered face, with no ill effects. It is magical. It just blends like a dream and never tugs away your foundation. Blending out to a soft even finish is effortless or building up for more impact is just as easy. It’s a shame these are so pricey in Canada because if I had the means I would be ordering more shades asap. Anyways, enough of my excited babble. Let’s get into more details on the shade No. 8 Red Agate from the Spring 2013 Arty Stone Collection.

Unique cream to powder blush offers a luminous, radiant and healthy look. The remarkably soft formulation feels like silk upon application, ensuring a seamless result. And because the non-waxy texture will not break through makeup, it is an excellent touch-up tool for use throughout the day. Suggested application: Using fingertips, gently apply to the apples of the cheeks, blending up and outward toward the hairline. Gently tap into the skin for flawless blending.

Sorry the above picture doesn’t have a pretty background but it was required to accurately show you the shade. Shade No 8 Red Agate is a muted rusty brown red shade. I was a little intimidated when I first saw this shade in the pot but on the cheeks it equates to the perfect natural flush on my fair skin. I surprised myself by falling head over heels in love with this unexpectedly natural blush colour. I hope you can appreciate the natural, translucent effect of this blush in the swatches below. It feels like silk being blended into the skin and leaves your skin feeling just as silky. No tackiness AT ALL.

Here I am wearing the Creme de Blush in Red Agate. Applied it using a brush over my foundation.
