The final item I have to share with you from the Yves Saint Laurent Autumn Winter 2012/2013 collection is the new and limited edition Dare To Glow Silky Highlighting Veil in 3 Naughty Pink.
A silky complexion illuminator, between a highlighter and an enhancer, Dare To Glow ($28US $55CDN) is a must-have for women who want a gorgeous glow. The nomad of the Autumn Winter Look 2012/2013 collection, it slips easily into a handbag to accompany the YSL woman wherever her whims take her.
The melting, ultra-fresh gel texture leaves skin soft and comfortable. Enriched with optical mother-of-pearl particles, Dare To Glow forms an impalpable veil for a natural-looking shimmer on the skin. A subtle texture that gives the skin luminous highlights.
Applied over the entire face or in touches, Dare To Glow is available in 3 shades to brighten skin tone and radiance and prolong an Indian summer.
- N° 1 – Tempting Gold – A warm, golden ray of light
- N° 2 – Fatal Red – A dark, warm ray of light
- N° 3 – Naughty Pink – A cool, clear ray of light
The formula is a lovely lightweight gel that blends easily and dries down to a silky, non-sticky dry finish.
The shimmer is very fine yet also very concentrated. This means you can go for a more frosty, almost metallic sheen with a heavier application or it can blend right out for a softer, more natural look. I did find that even very blended out it was a little out of my comfort zone for a highlighter. I like my highlighters to be a very subtle sheen. I shy away from any glitter, shimmer, or frost. Guess it’s because I’m an old fuddy duddy!
Lightly blended out:
Very blended out:
You can see blended out it looks very natural, while in the shot below of the same swatch you can see the camera struggled not to focus on the shimmer particles. It is very subtle though. Yes I am overly obsessed with detecting sparkles on my face. LOL
I love the versatility that this product gives. You can go from very intense to very subtle depending on technique. I am loving this in the inner corner of my eyes where I welcome the extra glow.
The fall YSL products should be hitting Canadian Holt Renfrew counters in August along with select Bay, Murale, and Sephora boutiques. I know it is rolling out as we speak in some US stores including availability on Neiman Marcus online. Note: I just noticed yesterday that the YSL Fall items are starting to appear on The Bay online. I was told August for counters but I bet it is appearing as we speak!
