The YSL Beauté Spring 2016 Boho Stones Collection embraces the bohemian spirit and the beauty of precious stones. One of the star pieces in the collection is the Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette Indie Jaspe($64 CAD). This eyeshadow collector palette is a modern and free-spirited take on spring colour.

The palette itself is absolutely gorgeous. I find it really refreshing to see such beautiful tones of yellow, green, and gold. It’s a colour palette you don’t often see if cosmetic packaging.

What I find so beautiful about this eyeshadow palette is that it manages to be both soft and vibrant. The top left shade is a beautiful peach that has a vibrant coral quality to it. My camera softened the vibrancy of this gorgeous shade. The top right shade is a lovely yellow gold. The precious green Jasper inspired hues of pale green and sage green round out the palette, while a centre square of sheer glittering silver can add some fun to your look.

I’m really pleased with how the peach and green tones play with each other. With the exception of the silver all of the shades give a luminous glow without being shimmery. To test out the palette I applied the yellow gold from crease to brow, the peach in the crease, the pale green on the lid, the darker green on the outer v and deep in the crease, and the silver on the inner corner of the eye. I was really happy with how it turned out. The shadows are very smooth and silky. They are incredibly easy to blend and work with. They offer a gentle wash of colour to the lids. I wouldn’t say they lack pigment, it is more a translucent glowing quality to the shadows that is intended to impart an iridescent glow to the eyes. So beautiful for spring.
