Bam! Blingdiggidy! Just LOOK at that packaging. Have you ever seen anything so gorgeous? I am seriously beside myself over how gorgeous the YSL Holiday 2016 Sparkle Clash Collection packaging is. To the point I think I may have to purchase the rest of the glitter adorned pieces just so I can have them on display in my collection.

There are six available shades of Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Collector Sparkle Clash Edition ($37 US/$42 CAD) lipsticks. The shades are existing Rouge Pur Couture shades in the collector’s edition packaging. The packaging is designed to look like a splattering of stars and gold and silver meteors. The lipstick bullets inside are embossed with star details. So pretty.

The special collector’s edition Sparkle Clash packaging is available for the following YSL Rouge Pur Couture shades:
- 1 Le Rouge- blood red
- 9 Rose Stiletto- rich berry rose
- 13 Le Orange – bright orange
- 19 Fuchsia- bright fuschia pink
- 52 Rouge Rose – rosy coral
- 70 Le Nu – basic nude
The two shades I have are 52 Rouge Rose and 70 Le Nu. Rouge Rose is an intense creamy coral. It is absolutely breathtaking. I tend to wear this kind of shade only in the spring/summer so I’ll have to exercise some patience until then. Le Nu is such a gorgeous nude. It has a subtle pearl shimmer and a bit sheerer formula than the reach cream of Rouge Rose. The rosy beige is very flattering on my fair skin and I can see using this lipstick A LOT.
The formula is richly hydrating and includes antioxidants. I find these lipsticks so comfortable to wear. They aren’t very long wearing, but with packaging like this I want to take out my tube as often as I can!

The collection also includes a limited, collector’s edition of Touche Éclat. The YSL Touche Éclat Sparkle Clash Collector Edition ($33 CAD). I think everyone could use a glitter adorned version of this cult classic illuminating pen in their collection. Don’t you?

While not part of the Sparkle Clash Holiday Collection, the Yves Saint Laurent Lumiere Divine Highlighting Finishing Powder Palette ($47 US/$59 CAD) is new. Call me crazy, but I find this to be very reasonably priced for a luxury face powder. I ordered this highlighter myself after hearing rave reviews on it. It had been described as quite subtle and I’d ordered it expecting to use at more as a gently illuminating all over face powder. While the glow this highlighter offers could be considered subtle, by those who love a strongly metallic or frosty highlight that you can see from space, I don’t consider it all that subtle. I consider it to be just about perfect. I am really, really in love with this highlighter. It could be used very, very lightly all over the face but I have been using it in traditional highlighter fashion. It is very pigmented but blends beautifully into the skin. The shade is pale beige gold that is very becoming on my fair skin. The glow is stunning. There is no detectable shimmer particles. Just a luminous, radiant glow.

Do you see any Holiday splurges here you may want to indulge in? Or I suppose you could actually gift them to someone…
