One of the summer collections I was most excited about, when I first started seeing sneak peeks, was the Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection. I am usually such an eyeshadow addict but when I saw that the Urban Decay summer collection was all about the complexion, and achieving a healthy and radiant glow, I was immediately smitten. I am obsessed with the Urban Decay Afterglow Blushes so I was dying to try the new Highlighters. Well I am happy to say that this collection does not disappoint. My anticipation and excitement was well warranted.
The collection features three Urban Decay AfterGlow Highlighters, two Urban Decay Beached Bronzers, and two eye pencils.
The Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighters ($32 CAD/$26 US) are SO GOOD guys! I mean so good! The powder is so finely milled giving them a smooth and buttery texture with no powdery finish or kickup whatsoever. They are beautifully pigmented and apply and blend like silk. They are gorgeous. The only thing that some may consider a drawback, is that two of the shades are quite unique, in the sense they have more iridescent finishes. For those who prefer a very natural highlight (aka me the majority of the time) you may find the effect a little too dramatic. The luxurious and soft texture does allow these to be blended out to a natural finish though no matter what shade you choose.
- Aura is an iridescent light pink. In can be applied lightly for a more natural finish or built up for an icy glow.
- Sin is a shimmering champagne. It is the most natural of the shades (as it is not an iridescent finish) but it is actually the most dramatic in terms of the glow factor.
- Fireball is a warm coral peach with a pink duo chrome shift. This is such a stunning shade and can be worn on fair skin as a blush. It also works beautifully as a blush topper to give a luminous and iridescent glow to your cheeks.
The Afterglow Highlighters are packaged in the same type of compact as the Afterglow Blushes with the fishnet cutout revealing the shade within. I adore this packaging!
The Urban Decay Beached Bronzers ($35 CAD/$28 US) are tropically packaged silky matte bronzers that give the complexion a radiant, healthy glow without shimmer. Like the exquisite formula of the highlighters, there is no powderyness to the formula. Finely milled, creamy, and easy to blend you can achieve a natural bronzed effect every time.
The two shades are universally flattering and perfectly formulated to never look orange or muddy.
- Sun-Kissed is a light-medium shade
- Bronzed is the medium-dark shade
Create open bright eyes to compliment your glowing, radiant complexion, with the two new eyeliner pencils in the collection.
The Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil in Walk of Shame ($25 CAD/$20 US) is the perfect nude for brightening the lower waterline. Unlike white or overly bright nude shades that can create a very unnatural effect, Walk of Shame is a deeper nude that cancels out redness and brightens in a more natural way.
The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Heartless ($25 CAD/$20 US) is a light frosted pink. It looks beautiful in the lower waterline. This pencil is so versatile because it can be used to highlight and brighten the inner corner of your eyes, your lower lash line, your lids, heck even your cupids bow or other areas on your face.
The waterproof formulas of these pencils will have you looking bright and fresh for hours.
Are you as excited about this collection as I am? What have you picked up?
