Urban Decay Naked on the Run ($54 US/$64 CAD) is an all in one look palette that offers a range of beautiful neutrals to take you from day to night. This well thought out collection is packaged perfectly not only for travel but also for popping in your handbag for touchups on the go.
The packaging is a very solid and hefty feeling metallic rose gold plastic palette with magnetic closure. The artwork on the palette gives off and animalistic vibe to me even though nothing about the pattern looks like animal print. When you shift the artwork in the light it takes on more of a green tone which is an interesting and unexpected effect. I love rose gold so while I don’t think the artwork was the best choice I do love the finish of the packaging.
Inside the compact you get everything you need to create a complete look after you have applied foundation, concealer, highlighter, and setting powder specific to your skin tone. Products include:
6 Eyeshadows exclusive to this palette in:
- Dive (metallic rose w/golden micro-shimmer)
- Fix (soft taupe matte)
- Resist (medium metallic taupe)
- Dare (medium brown matte)
- Stun (metallic bronze w/light gold micro-shimmer)
- 5050 (cool bisque satin) extra large shade
Bronzer (medium bronze matte)
Blush (vibrant pink with very light shimmer)
Perversion Mascara (blackest black)
24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stag (deep brown satin)
Naked Lipgloss in Sesso (rose w/pink shimmer)
The layout of the palette gives the suggestion that there are five eyeshadows, a bronzer, blush, and highlighter but the bottom right pan is actually an oversized eyeshadow pan with the base shade 5050. I always hit pan on these kinds of shades first so I love that they thought to include a generous size. The bisque shade has a satin finish and could double duty as a highlighter on darker skin tones but doesn’t have the level of illumination and glow required to function as a highlighter on fairer skin tones like mine.
The Perversion Mascara and Stag 24/7 Liner are travel sized and can be easily swapped out for other travel sized mascaras and liners when you run out of the included ones or just want to change up your look.
The Naked Lipgloss in Sesso is full sized meaning you don’t have to worry about running out of a lipstick/lipgloss pan like some all in one look palettes. Not to mention it’s much easier to apply and swap out for other gloss shades.
The products have the wonderful quality one would expect from Urban Decay. The powders are all richly pigmented with a creamy smooth texture. I love that they included two matte shades in this palette. They happen to be beautiful ones! The bronzer shade is a little more warm than I would like as I find it appears a little orangey on my skin but it is quite a universal shade that will work well for most and is workable for me. Thank goodness it’s matte! The pink blush may be my favourite part of this product. Such a gorgeous and pigmented vibrant pink with the perfect amount of very subtle shimmer. Sesso is a lovely deep rose with a gorgeous very delicate pink shimmer. It has a very sheer finish meaning it will offer subtle enhancement that will flatter any skin tone.
Here are some pics from a look done using all products in Naked on the Run with the exception of Stun eyeshadow which I didn’t fit into the look. Sorry there is no full face pic but the lighting was all wonky and the full face shots turned out too dark.
Overall I am really happy with Naked on the Run. I think it’s a great value and the perfect all in one look product for travelling as well as an easy to reach for everyday look. The colour selections may not be what some would consider exciting but that is the whole point. Naked of the Run offers everything you need to create a Naked look. The way they have designed the palette makes it easy to switch out products that will run out or expire unlike many all in one palettes that can get messy with gloss/cream pans and leave you hanging when they run out. Add to that they even thought to include an oversized base shadow pan and they really have thought of everything.
Naked on the Run is Limited Edition so get it while you can! Have you picked it up? If so what are your thoughts?
