Today the Beauty Blogger Top Ten Tuesday gals are sharing our Top 10 Hair Products. I have fine, dry, colour treated curly hair and these are the products that are a regular part of my routine, and have been for some time now.
- Cream – I love using styling and nourishing creams in my hair as it is so, so dry. It is also great for helping curls hold their shape while maintaining a soft touchable feel. My current favorite is still the Phyto Phytokératine Extrême Exceptional Cream.
- Gel – I am not a fan of crunchy hair mousse and much prefer hair gel for my curls. After applying a generous amount of cream I apply just a small amount of a firm hold gel to really help curls hold a defined shape. One of my favourites is the Kérastase Curl Fever Radiant Curl Shaping Gel.
- Volume Booster – I have very fine hair and volume is always a main concern when styling my hair. There is nothing worse than the dreaded triangle head of curls with flat roots. I have talked about the Kérastase V.I.P. Volume in Powder so many times on Perilously Pale and it is still a must have for me. It is like a dry shampoo, root volumizer, and hairspray all in one giving me amazing volume at the roots. It lasts all day and all I need to do is give my roots a little massage to amp up the volume again throughout the day.
- Lightweight Oil – I love using hair oils but it’s also important to me to keep it very lightweight given my fine hair. I love the Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miraculous Oil-in-Spray because I can lightly mist my hair to eliminate frizz and boost shine as the final step in my hair routine.
- Tapered Curling Wand– I have some areas on the top, front of my head that don’t curl as well as the rest of my hair. I always take a couple minutes to curl these areas to match the rest of my curls. I love curling irons with tapered wands. They give the most natural results with a wider curl near the roots to boost volume and a tighter curl near the ends. I’ve been eyeing this curling wand from T3 with interchangeable wands! What a space saver. Plus look how dang pretty it is.
- Duck Bill Clips – I spoke years ago about how I incorporate these clips into my hair routine. I place these all through the roots of my hair after a shower to keep my roots lifted while my hair dries. It makes such a difference for boosting volume!
- Microfibre Towels – This is a must for curly hair. It’s important not to rub your hair to avoid frizz. Rather than drying your hair with you bath towel, leave it soaking wet, apply your hair products, and then squeeze out the excess water with a microfibre towel. You don’t need to buy one just marketed for hair. It’s a lot more affordable to pick up some marketed for auto or home use.
- Tangle Teezer – I don’t brush my hair, (I don’t have any tangles after washing my hair and never brush my dry hair as it just turns me into a puffy frizz head), but a Tangle Teezer is a necessity in my house for my daughter who has much thicker hair than I do. I have tried many imitations and nothing works as beautifully as brushing through hair, with as little pain as possible, as the real Tangle Teezer.
- Blonde Brightening Products – I have very ashy pale blonde hair right now and it I can’t stand when it starts looking yellow and brassy. I always have brightening shampoo and conditioner on hand in the shower that I use regularly to eliminate the brass. I am still loving the Drybar Blonde Ale products.
- Diffuser – When you have curly hair a diffuser is a must when blowdrying your hair. I’ve been eyeing this Devacurl Devafuser for so long. I love how it is shaped like a hand and offers gently 360º airflow.
