I have finally tried the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks ($21 US/$25 CAD) and can verify that they are indeed worth the hype.
These liquid lipsticks are conveniently packaged in squeeze tubes with a felt tip applicator that allows for precise application.
The formula is light and creamy and give intense, opaque colour coverage. These beauties really pack a punch. The shades I’ve tested are Melted Sugar and Melted Coral. The Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are supposed to offer the shine of a gloss but I found Melted Coral to have more of a satin sheen and Melted Sugar was almost matte.
Melted Sugar is described as a nude sand. Given it’s opaque pigmentation I found it gave me a bit of the concealer nude lip effect. I think I will like this best to mix with other shades of Melted to tone down the colour a bit.
Melted Coral is described as a creamy coral. It is a strongly orange leaning coral. Especially against my cooler skin tone. It is super bright and fun.
While the shades I tested aren’t flattering on me I am in love with the formula. The intense pigment is fantastic and applies evenly. They are very long wearing yielding about 5-6 hours wear for me. They will transfer though so exercise care while rocking the more vibrant shades. Melted Coral also left a nice stain behind on my lips. They are very comfortable to wear and I didn’t find they hydrated or dried out my lips. I am anxious to try out some other shades that may be a little more agreeable with my colouring. There are 18 shades available.
