The Tarte Best in Faux Lash Extending Fibers ($19 US/$23 CAD) is supposed to give you the look of false lashes at home without traditional glue on falsies. It uses lightweight black fibres to build on your own lashes to give lashes dramatic length and volume.
This is my first experience with a product like this. It is very different. You first prep lashes with a coat of mascara (the Best in Faux includes a deluxe sample size of Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara), then you use a gentle patting motion to apply the fibres on top of your lashes starting at the middle and working your way out to the tip. Finish the look off with another coat of mascara to lock in the fibres. There is a bit of a learning curve because at first I was ending up with fibers in my eyes and on my face. I have gotten much better at it now! I certainly don’t have the patience to do this everyday, (mind you it doesn’t really take that much longer), but it does give great results and is great for more special occasions. Definitely more comfortable for me than wearing traditional falsies. Just be wary not to rub your eyes at all or you will end up with the fibres and mascara flaking off onto your cheeks. If you’re wearing makeup you shouldn’t be rubbing your eyes anyways. 😉
