I have very fine curly hair. When your hair is fine, and your curls a little lacking, it’s easy to end up with flat, fluffy, frizzy, yet lifeless hair. What a horrific mix. Well it took many years to learn how to make the most of my hair but I have finally learned that the right mix of products, along with the least amount of fussing around i.e. touching/blowdrying etc, results in the best formed curls with the most volume. I usually end up anxious to chop off my hair when it gets to any substantial length as the length weighs down my already weak curl but some amazing products have helped me go from restless to cut, to compliments in abudance on my new locks.
What is my magic recipe. Well lets take a look at the products I’ve been using that have made a noticeable difference in the texture and appearance of my fine curly hair.
Kérastase Densifique Bain Densité Shampoo ($40 CAD) and Kérastase Densifique Masque Densité ($59 CAD) to tackle the extra thinning I’ve been experiencing in my fine hair with age. The Kérastase Densifique line formula is enriched with three key ingredients:
- Hyaluronic Acid: To tackle thinning fibers.
- Gluco-Peptide: To tackle quality alternation.
- Ceramide: To tackle weakened fibers.
Kérastase Curl Fever Radiant Curl Shaping Gel ($38 CAD) is a medium hold gel with PowerSoft gel technology. I love gels for curl definition, shine, and curl control and Curl Fever does the job with long lasting hold and shine without crunchiness.
Kérastase Baume Double Je Multi-Talented Styling Balm ($36 CAD) This hybrid of paste and cream makes the perfect balm for taming frizzes and shaping the odd curl. I like to mix it with a bit of hair oil or serum and gently run it through my curls to help them hold their from and resist frizz.
Kérastase Volume In Powder V.I.P. Backcomb Effect Finishing Spray ($38 CAD)I have already raved about this product in my Kérastase Volume in Powder review. This works as a dry shampoo, texturizer, and hair spray all in one to give me the most amazing lift and volume at the roots that lasts for literally days. No lie!
shu uemura Art of Hair Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray ($42 CAD) This natural looking finishing spray offers shape, volume, and freedom of movement to my curls. Long lasting yet effortless shape and texture.
