Summer Wedding Makeup Look

This week the Makeup Wars team is sharing our favourite Summer Wedding Makeup Look. This look will look equally beautiful on a wedding guest as it would the bride. Most of the summer weddings I attend are outdoor affairs. You want to look fresh, polished, and pretty all while surviving the heat and humidity. Plus you want to look as good on that dance floor late into the night as you do many, many hours earlier during the ceremony.

My go to summer wedding look usually revolves around accentuating my blue eyes with warm browns complimented with pink cheeks and a nude pink lip. I don’t know about you, but when I’m getting ready for a special occasion it’s time to break out A LOT of products. I am a makeup junkie (and artist) after all. There is a lot of prepping, priming, and a whole lot of action going on when I’m getting ready for an event.

Complexion

• Burberry Fresh Glow Primer – This radiant hydrating primer is the perfect prep for a more drying longwear foundation.
• MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation in NC15 – This foundation offers amazing coverage with little product meaning your skin still feels natural and comfortable. The waterproof longwear formula lasts even through sweat and humidity.
• Dior Star Concealer in 001 Ivory – Great lightweight brightening underage coverage.
• Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder – to set undereye concealer
• Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder – pressed onto nose, forehead, and chin to banish pores and keep shine at bay.
• Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light – very lightly dusted on face to set makeup and return a bit of glow.
• MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Bronze Fusion in 15I – My current favourite bronzer for a natural sun kissed bronze.
• MAKE UP FOR EVER HD High Definition Blush in 210 – For a dewy pink flush.
• Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Soft Focus Highlighter – I can find the MAC Pro Longwear Foundation pretty drying so to keep my complexion looking more radiant and dewy I try to stick mostly to cream products.

Eyes

• Too Faced Shadow Insurance – from lid to brow
• MAC Painterly Paint Pot – on lid faded up to brow
• Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette – Walk of Shame W.O.S. from crease to brow, Faint in the crease blended out with Naked2, light dusting of Venus on brow bone, Crave on lashline and a touch on outer v.
• MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadows – ME-152 on inner third of lid, ME-700 on middle of lid, D-652 on outer v blended into crease and on outer portion of lower lashline
• Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon – In the Buff! on the inner corner and lower waterline, Blaquer on upper waterline and lash liner, Sunset on outer portion of lower waterline and lashline
• Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – for full sexy lashes (I get too annoyed to wear falsies for an entire day)
• MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Brow in 10

Lips

• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Native – my favourite long wearing waterproof pale pink liner.
• Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Desirable
• Estee Lauder Pure Color Lacquer in Vinyl Rose – Desirable and Vinyl Rose make a killer long lasting soft pink lip.
