Stila is a brand I have had very limited experiences with. Actually I think the only product I had ever tried from them was the Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liner in Rock Candy 3 years ago. Wow how has three years passed since then! I was very excited to have a sampling of Stila products to try out. Especially the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner ($26 CAD) in Deep Burgundy. I have been wanting to try these raved about liners forever. Every time I see someone wearing Mint Julep my heart sets a flutter. I really don’t know how I’ve managed to hold off buying that eyeliner.

Deep Burgundy is the perfect burgundy liner. Deep and dark enough to give definition and impact to the lash line while still imparting a hint of colour that looks super flattering on green and blue eyes. The pigmentation is intense in one swipe and the liner applies smoothly and evenly and wears all day. You need a good makeup remover to get these babies off. I am definitely impressed. With a shade offering of over 30 shades I am a little concerned I won’t know where to stop!

The Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss ($32 CAD) in Scarlet Vinyl is one sexy lipgloss. I would consider these more a liquid lipstick as they are densely pigmented and have opaque coverage but they do offer the vinyl shiny finish of a gloss. Scarlet Vinyl is a deep brick red that is fiercely sexy and this bold colour and vinyl shine will have you turning heads. I get over 4 hours of wear out of it and it leaves a nice stain behind. I also found these really moisturizing. Turns out they include moisturizing ingredients like seaweed extract and green coffee oil for lasting hydration.

When I first set out to test the Stila Color Correcting CC Cream ($57 CAD) in Fair I didn’t have high hopes. Usually these colour adjusting products don’t work for me as they transform into a shade that is far too dark and orange for my complexion. I was delighted to see that the Stila CC Cream transformed into a beautiful match. Just enough warmth and yellow tones to cancel out the redness in my skin while still remaining fair enough to work for my complexion. The coverage is definitely sheer but this product is designed more for colour correction than coverage. If you want to further even out your skin I recommend going in where needed with a concealer for more coverage. What I love most about the Stila CC Cream is it’s soft dewy finish and how incredibly hydrating it feels. My skin is very dry and this formula actually seemed to make my skin feel more comfortable as they day went on.
