The winter months are an especially trying time for those with sensitive skin. Skin becomes drier and more irritated and finding products that soothe and hydrate the skin, without further aggravating it, become essential. Today I will be introducing you to some great new products for both face and body that are formulated to replenish and repair dry skin with soothing ingredients that are safe and gentle for sensitive skin types. And yes, apparently blue is the universal color for sensitive skin product packaging!

Bioderma Atoderm – The Bioderma Atoderm range of products is targeted at those with very dry to atopic sensitive skin. They contain demo-patented formulas to restore the hydrolipidic film of skin that lacks moisture and lipids.
Bioderma recently released a new 1 litre size of the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel ($19.95 CAD/1L) which is a gentle soap-free foaming shower gel. The size and pump dispenser are perfect for the shower. I was surprised to see however that the formula does include sulphates.

The Jouviance Skin Rescue Intense Repair Cream ($30 CAD/40 ml) is a beautiful silky cream that is rich in biolipids to calm and nourish dry, flaking, rough, cracking, and irritated skin. What I love about this cream is that it is so hydrating without being greasy and it restores the skin’s barrier without the waxy, heavy texture. It can be used on face and body, (although the tube is too small for body use as far as I’m concerned), and it is even safe for use on the eye area and on the eyelids themselves. It is free of silicones, parabens, sulphates, phthalates, mineral oils, artificial colors, and fragrances. It is not tested on animals. I think this is probably my favorite product in the roundup. The formula features:
