I have a couple of beautiful new palettes from Smashbox to share with you today. First up let’s take a look at one of the new Smashbox L.A. Lights Blush Palettes ($40 CAD). I have the Culver City Coral Palette which includes two satin matte blush shades in Rich Coral and True Coral along with a Highlight Coral subtle shimmer highlight.

The pigmentation of these powders is amazing. Really vibrant, beautiful colour payoff. The shades are gorgeous. There are also pink and berry toned palettes available, Pacific Coast Pink and Malibu Berry. The highlight shade is too dark to strictly as a highlight on my fair skin but it works beautifully as a blush or to add a bit of sheen to the matte blushes in the palette.

The Smashbox Photo Matte Eyes Palette ($58 CAD) is a great all in one palette for eyes. I includes 12 matte shades as well as 2 double sized base shades. Many of the shades in the palette pull double or triple duty as liner and brow shades on top of just functioning as an eyeshadow.

These shadows are truly beautiful quality. Richly pigmented and smooth. I mean do you see how intense those bottom right shades are. Ugh! So good! The left side of the palette is more warm toned and the right side of the palette a little more cool toned. While the colour payoff is impressive with these shadows for some reason I found that a lot of the shades seemed to look similar on my lids. During testing I wore the left side of the palette on eye and the right side on the other. They both looked remarkably similar on me. I’m wondering if it is because the shades are rather intense on my fair skin.

The palette also comes with a really nice quality dual ended, shadow/liner brush.
Both palettes are available at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and BeautyBoutique.ca. The blush palettes are also available at Sephora.
