The Shupette Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura Collection is one of the cutest, most adorably packaged makeup collections I have ever seen. Pretty, quirky, and full of feline parisian class this collection inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s snow white long haired pussycat princess mademoiselle Choupette, a.k.a. “Shupette” will make any beauty and kitty lover purr with delight. You know that’s one spoiled kitty when celebrated Karl Lagerfeld collaborates with shu uemura for a whole Shupette inspired make-up line! Beyond the incredible packing, being shu uemura the products are of course phenomenal as well.
This collection has been selling out fast. I’m lucky enough to have a few pieces to share with you today.
Lets start with the Shupette Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura eye-need-shy-trio ($45 CAD). The packaging has the cute illustration done by Karl Lagerfeld himself of the adorable Shupette. It comes in two colour combinations:
eye-need-shy-trio 01 Parisienne Chic – includes shades E9 P Glitter Black (Deep navy with blue sparkle), E5 IR Pastel Blue “Shupette Blue” (iridescent pastel blue), E6 P Cool Gray (pale grey blue satin). The blue was designed especially to work on asian skin tones but I think it looks fabulous on my fair skin as well. This creates a positively gorgeous blue eye look to compliment any icy cool day or evening.
eye-need-shu trio 02 Tokyo Kawaii – includes shades E3 P Burgundy Brown (burgundy brown satin), E10 IR Bright Pink (iridescent bright mid tone pink), E11 Ivory Yellow, (ivory shimmer). A very wearable colour combo for incorporating some pink into your eye look.
There is also the Shupette Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura my precious glitter set (trio) ($58 CAD). I was excited to discover that rather than being glitter these are actually gorgeous shimmering loose eyeshadows. No chunky glitter but rather lovely pigmented soft shadows with stunning sparkle.
The outer packaging has the adorable drawing of Shupette and the glitter jars themselves are adorned in pastel kitty paw prints. The shades are Gold, Pink, and Platinum.
One of the most lovely parts of the collection is the Shupette Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura pampearl-me face powder ($50). The pink lid of the jar has the drawing of Shupette and her beautiful eyes have a reflective finish that sparkle blue in the light.
The super soft powder puff has paw prints traveling across the ribbon handle. The powder is dispensed through the mesh cover on the jar. I am in love with the way this is packaged.
Below is a heavy swatch. The powder is a finely milled delicate translucent powder with very fine pastel pink and gold shimmer. I swear there is some pastel blue in there as well. It is absolutely stunning. I think applied with a light hand you could easily wear this powder during the daytime but where it will really excel is to give your skin a luminous and radiant airbrushed glow in the evening.
And yay! My all time favourite cleansing oil in cute Shupette packaging. The Shupette by Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura ultime8 sublime beauty cleansing oil($90 CAD/450ml) is going to look fantastic beside my sink!
Have you picked up anything from this collection? Were you lucky enough to get your hands on the Shupette has-it-all eye & lip palette with faux fur makeup bag ($115 CAD) before it sold out? It’s a great time to try something new or stock up on favourites like the cleansing oil or the shu uemura Eyelash Curler. You can get one with a Shupette charm!
