For the shu uemura Spring/Summer Blossom Dream collection makeup artist Yuji Asano evokes the magic of dreams. A colourful array of pastel florals and diverse textures that are inspired by the glorious budding flowers of spring and dreams come true. The combination of matte and shiny textures in this collection enlivens the face with fresh beauty. The limited edition unmask palette pink is probably the most wearable for the colour shy. There are also blue and green versions that look divine! I for one am not afraid of colour.
shu uemura describes the Unmask Palette Pink eyeshadow palette as a beautiful combination of sweet pink rose petal flush and vibrant bright pink that instantly charms. The neutral pink shade is also used as a base. Apply faintly around the eyes to create a cute impression.
The “vibrant” pink is actually quite warm and wearable. Not the wild pink you may envision from the product description. These shades all work together for a beautiful eye look that is neutral but with a kick of fun pink to give it a little extra romance.
The texture of these matte eyeshadows is out of this world. They are so pigmented and creamy with no chalkiness. They are an absolute dream formula. Just look at the intensity of these swatches!
I will post a full look post but here is a sneak peek at the look I created using this entire palette. It is a dream to work with. It blends effortlessly and seamlessly and it lasted the entire day even with my son applying “pretend” makeup on my eyes with a real brush. Don’t ask! LOL I got enough flack about it already! The deepest brown shade actually applies to the eye with quite a cool tone. My only wish for this palette would be that the medium brown shade wasn’t so overtly warm. I have found the medium brown shades in a lot of the shu uemura palettes to run really warm. I would love to see a more neutral or even cool brown shade for the crease.
The three shu uemura unmask palettes ($85 ea) are available January 2013 exclusively at Holt Renfew.
