Shu Uemura Spring 2014 Bijoux Collection brings us four potted eyeshadows with the most delightful texture and finish. The Silk Cushion Eyeshadows ($30 CAD/$22 US) have a really fun marshmallow like cushiony feel. The shadows are incredibly light yet offer excellent pigment for such delicate shades.

They come in four shades:
- Morganite Pink
- Amethyst Purple
- Peridot Green
- Amber Brown

Here you can so the spongey texture of the shadows.

The shadows have the most stunning luminous finish thanks to the silvery white Pearly Carat marbled into each shade . They are breathtaking. Truly beautiful. Unfortunately, while these shadows are touted as being long lasting they crease and fade terribly, and quickly, on me. They fair pretty well on areas of the eye where there is no movement but on the mobile lid and crease they crease and disappear. I have tried over Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer with the same result. Over a cream primer, I tried Painterly Paint Pot by MAC, they lasted a little longer but still faded and creased. I am going to continue experimenting with bases for these shadows because, quite simply, I am UNWILLING to give up on them. They are just far too beautiful to toss aside. I am determined to find a way to make them work and will update you on my progress.

The shu uemura Spring 2014 Bijoux Collection is limited edition and became available as of January 2014 at Holt Renfrew, select Sephora and Hudson’s Bay locations and at www.shuuemura.ca.
