The Marsala Metalshine Liquid Liner ($18 US/$23 CAD) is one of the most striking ways to wear the colour of the year from the SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE 2015 Colour of the Year Marsala 18-1438 Capsule Collection. This long-wearing liquid liner delivers a bold swipe of Marsala at the lash line with a striking metallic finish.
The exterior packaging features a transparent marsala ombre effect. It is really quite lovely. Things get even prettier when you open up the exterior packaging to reveal the product packaging itself. All the products in the collection are housed in palettes that have either a gold finish or rose gold (one might call it marsala tinged gold) finish.
I’m not sure whether the variation in tone of the gold packaging was intentional or not but the Metalshine Liner has the more marsala tinged gold finish.
When I first opened the liner it took my breath away. Gorgeous, vibrant, metallic marsala. So beautiful!
The liner applies with intense and even pigment. No second pass required. The fine brush tip guarantees a precise line every time. I found it very easy to use.
If you have blue eyes this shade will make your eye colour pop like nothing else. It is remarkable. The shade is so pretty. The metallic finish may be a little dramatic but I actually found this liner very wearable. I love everything about it. It wore well all day with no fading, peeling, or flaking. I also didn’t experience any tightening on my lid as I sometimes do with liquid liners.
