While I don’t have the exquisite packaging of the Rouge G de Guerlain in Madame Batifole($51 CAD) to show you from the Guerlain Violette de Madame Collection for Fall 2013, (I’m reviewing a tester version), I can share with you information on the shade and formula of this exceptional lipstick.
In the tube Madame Batifole looks like a deep berry with very subtle violet shimmer. Swatched, and on the lips, it transforms to a truly stunning deep fuchsia that positively glows on the lips. It will certainly have you turning heads.
The formula is exceptional. My lips were quite dry and tight when I went to apply it and I was kicking myself for not prepping my lips first. Turns out it wasn’t necessary anyways as the Rouge G de Guerlain in Madame Batifole simply melted any dryness and tightness away and I was left with lips that felt hydrated and comfortable. While I did experience some transferring this lipstick lasted for well over four hours and that was through 2 cups of coffee, snacking, brushing my teeth, and kissing my son. I was really quite impressed at how well this lipstick lasted even though it felt so creamy, silky, and hydrating. I think my favourite thing about Madame Batifole is how my lips looked like they were glowing without any noticeable shimmer or frost. It’s a gorgeous and youthful effect. Even though the Rouge G lipsticks are probably one of the most expensive lipsticks ($49.50 US/$51 CAD) you will come across the are worth the indulgence.
