I absolutely adore the Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss formula and have reviewed Genie and Emoi in the past. It has excellent coverage, long wearing, a comfortable feel, and sophisticated finish. I find it more like a liquid lipstick than a traditional gloss but even better in my books because I find most liquid lipsticks too thin in consistency. When I first saw the press releases for the Les Essentiels de Chanel collection I knew I needed the new limited edition shades 67 Caprice and 68 Troublant for fall.
CHANEL reveals a next generation lipgloss – with colour so rich and shine so intense, it could only be inspired by the iconic lipstick, ROUGE ALLURE. Bold colour combines with the smoothest, silkiest gel texture for luxurious wear and deeply dramatic effect. Lips feel comfortable – never sticky or tacky – and look luminous, full and sensuous for hours. The double-sided, flocked applicator is beveled to deliver ultra-precise definition.
Caprice is a lovely warm light pink. It is a milky type pink in the sense that it is lighter than naked lips but it didn’t do the yucky settling into my lip lines thing that most milky pink glosses do. I love it! It has a very subtle fine shimmer.

Troublant also has a very fine subtle shimmer. It is more multi-tonal than the shimmer in Caprice and a tad more noticeable on the lips. This is such a sophisticated, yet fun, plum brown shade. It is not so dark or drab that I feel out of place wearing it in the summer. This shade is too beautiful not to use year round. If I could only pick one of the two Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss shades from this collection it would be 68 Troublant.
