Let me start by saying I am not a fan of synthetic brushes. I have never found them to feel or function as well as their natural counterparts. Even many quite pricey brands I have tried have let me down. Real Techniques by Sam and Nic Chapman have been some of the very few exceptions to my synthetic free lifestyle. Many of their brushes have made their way into my personal routine and into regular use in my pro kit because not only do they not suck, they actually rock! They are super soft, blend products beautifully, and hallelujah, actually pick up and deposit colour effectively. The new Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Collection ($29.99 CAD) is being added to my list of beloved synthetic brushes.

The Duo-Fiber Collection includes:
Duo-Fiber Face Brush – for light application. I am loving this brush for applying bronzer to very fair skin as it gives a very light application and gives great control over building the colour.
Duo-Fiber Contour Brush – for controlled contouring and sculpting. Another brush that is a dream for fair skin. No more worrying about going overboard on contour product application. You can lightly apply and blend your contour powder for a natural effect.
Duo-Fiber Eye Brush – for finishing touches to the eye. A great brush for a very light crease application and perfect for blending out your crease shade.

I’m definitely thinking I need to pick up a second set so I can have one in my pro kit and one for myself. I also think these brushes would make for great tools for someone new to makeup to make blending effortless and to help control their application for more natural results while they get the hang of working with more pigmented products.
