The Quo Fall 2015 Collection brings us some beautifully packaged beauty products in a variety of flattering neutral shades that will suit many complexions.
There are two Quo Eye Shadow Palettes ($18 CAD) available in the Collection. The cooler toned Romantic Aubergin containing lots of romantic shades of pink and purple and the more warm toned and neutral Keepin’ It Sweet Palette shown here.
Keepin’ It Sweet contains 12 eyeshadows in a range of warm browns and pinks in matte, satin, and subtle shimmer finishes. The pigmentation on the shadows is moderate and they are very easy to blend. This, combined with the more natural finishes of the eyeshadows, makes it a very easy palette to work with and hard to overdo. This makes it a great option for someone new to makeup or someone not very confident in their skills that may shy away from more intense pigment and shimmer. I do highly recommend using a primer with these shadows to help increase colour payoff and to prevent fading. I did experience some fading through the day even over a cream shadow base.
The palette also contains four cream liners in shades of shimmering navy, shimmering graphite, black, and brown. I found these cream liners didn’t really set so are best used for a smudgier look.
There are two all in one Quo Face Palettes ($18) in the fall collection. The more pink toned Adorn and the more peach hued Escape shown here.
The blush shade is a subtle warm peach. The center highlight shade is a sheer ivory with sparse sparkle. The right shade is a warm bronzer that is quite light and best suited to lighter skin tones. Pigmentation on the powders in this palette is quite subtle but they apply and blend well. I did experience some moderate fading throughout the day.
The Quo Brow Wow ($12) palette contains 3 shades of brow powder and a clear brow gel. I was happy to see the blonde shade was quite ash toned and worked well for me. The palette includes a mini dual ended applicator with angled brow brush heads on both ends.
My favorite items in the Quo Fall Collection were the Quo Chubby Lip Crayons ($10 CAD). There are four shades available. I tested Innocent (a warm pink nude matte) and Sassy (a bright fuchsia with subtle shimmer). These are very creamy and offer excellent colour coverage. I got about 4 hours wear from them.
Released shortly before the Quo Fall 2015 Makeup Collection was the Fall Dance Part Collection 2015 for Nails. It includes 6 fun, bright, party worthy shades. Shown is Turn Up the Volume ($10 CAD) a coral pink.
Here is a very natural look I created with the Keeping’ It Sweet Palette, Escape Face Palette, Brow Wow, and Chubby Lip Crayon in Innocent.
