Inspired by the film Jupiter Ascending the new starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum. This limited edition Pür Minerals Jupiter Ascending Collection ($29 US/$35 CAD) recreates Jupiter Jones’ signature look with six new, exclusive eye shadows, a light-up lip gloss with touchup mirror, and liquid precision eyeliner.

The packaging of this boxed collection is beautiful. I didn’t realize how dazzling and sparkling it was until I got it out into the sunshine.

The box slides out to reveal the 6 shade eyeshadow palette, lipgloss, and eyeliner.

I just love the sparkling black with gold floral details on the sturdy, magnetized cardboard palette.

The Jupiter Eyeshadow Palette includes the following shades (the formula protects with Vitamin E) as well as an eyeshadow brush:
- Majesty – pale taupe
- Destiny – cream
- Night Sky – slate
- Jupiter – rose
- Caine – mocha
- Cosmos – iridescent white

When I first saw the colour palette I immediately thought of my beloved Le Metier de Beaute, very exclusive limited edition, Smoldering Embarkment Kaleidoscope Eye Kit. More details on that to come at the end of this post.

The shadows are nicely pigmented and work really well together for a dramatic smokey eye. They lasted the entire day for me even without a primer and I was really impressed overall.

The Light-up Lip Gloss in Galaxy is a stunning iridescent sparkling sheer pink. It is very sheer so it will work really nicely as a lipstick topper but it does look lovely on it’s own as a subtle lip with the dramatic eye you can achieve with the palette.

The Liquid Precision Eyeliner in Outer Space was a really pleasant surprise. While it swatched a bit on the sheer side when I applied it to my eyes it applied beautifully and effortlessly. I was able to achieve a really nice fine line and creating the dainty wing I favour was easy. The really fluid formula passed easily over my less than smooth lids for a nice even line.

Here is the look I created using the collection. To start I omitted the shade Jupiter for a more tame result:

To complete the full collection look and add further drama I patted Jupiter on the second third of my lid and added it to the lower lashline as well.

As I mentioned I immediately thought of my sacred Le Metier de Beaute Smoldering Embarkment Kaleidoscope ($95 US) when I saw the Jupiter Palette. Here are some comparison shots. You can see that while the shades are not total dupes they do offer the same tonal family and the resulting look is very similar. Given the incredible price this collection is being offered at I think, especially if you missed out on Smoldering Embarkment, it’s a must have!

The Pür Minerals Jupiter Ascending Collection ($35 CAD) is limited edition and will be available exclusively in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart. It’s available in the US at Ulta. It’s also available in North America from the purminerals.com.
