What happens when you have 12 new products you are positively in love with and can’t wait to share with your readers? Ones that are fully deserving of their own detailed reviews but you just don’t know where to start because you love them all? Well you create a currently obsessed collage of course!
In no particular order of adoration:
OPI Natural Nail Glitter Off Base Coat ($10.95 CAD) – I am a serial picker. Whether it be a regular mani, glitter, or LED gels I almost always end up picking off my polish rather than removing it. I know. I know! It’s a terrible and damaging habit. Well now I don’t have to feel guilty! This new peel off base coat from OPI is an answer to my prayers. It works like an absolute dream! I know it’s been said that regular Elmer’s glue will achieve the same results, and this product actually smells and looks like glue, but this OPI product makes application much easier. The product is a little thinner than standard glue and of course it’s packaged for proper application. I will NEVER be without this again!
Yves Saint Laurent Effet Faux Cils Mascara in 22 Captivating Purple/Violine Tenebreuse ($30 US) – This limited edition Spring 2014 release from YSL is my dream purple mascara. It is deep enough to to give the impact of black mascara but still offer a lovely, luminous hint of dark purple. The Faux Cils mascara formula is of course fantastic. I am beyond in love with this mascara and so sad it is LE. If it was in the budget I would certainly be purchasing back ups. By the way, while purple may be promoted as best for accentuating green eyes it also looks fantastic with blue eyes. Well, and brown eyes, and hazel eyes, and you get the picture. You can see this mascara in action in this look.
Aveda Stress-Fix Body Cream – This cream from Aveda has the rich, thick texture of a body butter. I adore Aveda product scents and this richly hydrating cream infused with French lavender, lavandin and clary sage from organic farms is clinically proven to relieve feelings of stress and is an amazing aromatherapy experience.
Sephora Colorful 24HR Waterproof Eyeliner in Animal Instinct – This shimmering olive green liquid liner from Sephora is absolutely stunning! The formula is opaque and doesn’t tighten up on my lids as some liquid liners can. The applicator and formula make application so effortless and the result is simply breathtaking. I am eager to check out more shades. See it in action here.
Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Contouring Eye Lift ($165 CAD)- Skincare products don’t often wow me but this one has me excited. I really feel and see a difference already. The applicator is beyond cool. Actually I mean that literally. It’s ceramic, sculpted tip applicator immediately cools the eye area. I use the back side of it, which is contoured to the shape of my under eyes, to cool and refresh my eye area. Then I flip it over and apply the product with the other side. The cooling feeling lasts for a long time. I was amazed. The soothing de-puff complex includes algae and golden chamomile. South Sea Pearls gently illuminate the eye area. The powerful formula of three advanced polymers including Anacia Senegal Tree, Sweet Almond, and Goji Berry extracts instantly tighten and lift and stimulate collagen for lifted, firmer skin with less lines over time. Black Tourmaline gems add to the skin cell support of this luxurious product filled with precious ingredients. I am truly excited to see the long term effects of this product because I am already truly impressed after only a matter of days. Bonus, it’s fragrance free! (I have such a hard time with scents around my eyes.)
Moroccanoil Styling Gel – It has the Moroccanoil scent and gives my curls soft definition. Need I say more. Lord I love that smell!
Lise Watier Age Control Supreme Ultimate Body Butter ($70 CAD) – This indulgently rich, and intoxicatingly scented, rich cream enriched with exclusive concentrated Labrador Tea Extract, argan and shea butters is simply amazing. I love everything about this body butter. The texture, the scent, the intense hydration, the softness it gives my skin. I am almost in tears looking at my almost empty jar. You know the conundrum when you love something so much you want to use it all the time but at the same time are terrified of it running out?
AERIN Rose Lip Conditioner ($28 US) – I’m not often enamoured with fancy lip balms. I swear by Lansinoh Lanolin for Nursing Mothers as my holy grail lip balm and find other products usually fail miserably for me in comparison. This pale pink sheer balm has a thicker texture that actually stays on. (I hate how most balms seem to disappear on me within minutes). I really enjoy the thicker feel and I don’t find it sticky. The light rose scent is really lovely. I’m finding I quite enjoy this indulgent balm that is a best seller from AERIN.
Pantene Expert Advanced+ Keratin Repair KERAGLOSS Oil Mist ($14 US) – This oil mist fights split ends, frizz, dullness and dryness with a rare blend of exotic oils including Argan, Jojoba, Safflower, Olive and Sesame. It smells soooooo good and the dispenser sprays out an ultra fine mist which I love! This can be used on damp hair and also on dry hair as a shine spray. Thanks to the ultra fine mist I can get an incredible shine that is so light weight and doesn’t weigh down my curls or leave me feeling greasy like most shine sprays. I love this product so much!
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector ($20 CAD) – I have heard amazing things about the Hemp line but was always a little afraid to try it thinking it would have some sort of funky, skunky smell. Well I wish I had tried this earlier because not only does it smell amazing, (sort of an herbal smell that reminds me of Aveda products), but it also is one high performance, intense hand cream that is saving my winter ravaged hands. No wonder this is The Body Shop’s #1 selling product! Oh and guess what? The Body Shop Hand Creams happen to be on sale right 50% off right now and the big 100ml tube is only $10!
L’Oreal Paris Sublime Soft Gentle Miscellar Solution ($11.99 CAD) – Dare I say it? I think I like this better than the Bioderma cleansing water. This removes all makeup so effortlessly and the price can’t be beat. It doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes at all. This is simply a fantastic product. Whether you are a Bioderma junkie or have just always wanted to try a miscellar water then you need to try this one from L’Oreal.
Vichy Neovadiol Elixir ($58 CAD) – The Vichy Neovadiol line is one designed for woman with post-menapausal skin and they are releasing the first facial oil targeted at post-menapausal skin. Now I of course have not gone through menopause but I suffer from all of the same skin issues thanks to my chronically dry, dehydrated skin. Thin, sagging, dull, dry skin is my nemesis. Something I am constantly struggling with. So far I am really loving the improvement this trio of omega rich oils is offering my skin. Safflower Seed Oil is rich in omega 6 (twice as much as argan oil) and omega 9. Rice Bran Oil contains high doses of omegas 3, 6, and 9 and has emollient and nourishing properties as well as super-antioxidant qualities (4 times as much Vitamin E as most oils). Shea Butter is rich in omegas 6 and 9 and has soothing anti-inflammatory properties to promote the synthesis of epidermal lipids. This oil also happens to smell amazing.
So there you have it. Twelve products that have really won me over lately and that I have truly been enjoying testing and don’t ever want to run out of. Anything on my list catch your eye?
