This January L’Oreal Paris is releasing a collection of 9 nail lacquers that are going to blow you away, the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gold Dust collection. It’s so amazing to see a drugstore brand coming out with such complex and interesting shades! The drugstore landscape is changing and the options available are beginning to reflect the creativity and complexity that niche and indie brands as well as higher end brands like Deborah Lippmann have been offering the past several years.
I have four of the shades to introduce you to today. I saw the rest of the collection at L’Oreal Paris Canada’s Spring 2014 unveiling and I can tell you all 9 shades are stunning. For only $6.99 CAD each you’ll need them all!
- Pop the Bubbles is a lovely aqua dense with tiny aqua shimmer and larger silver and aqua glitter pieces.
- Too Dimensional? is a gorgeous combo of purple and gold shimmer and larger glitter.
- Hidden Gems is a rich deep turquoise that flashes blue and a bit of purple in the right light. There are larger silver glitter that add even more interest to this shade. It may be my favourite of the bunch.
- Rough Around the Edges looks like gleaming asphalt.
All the shades have a textured rough finish even after application of a top coat. Even thought they are full on shimmer/glitter shades they are very dense and completely opaque in 2 coats. They are difficult to remove so I recommend the foil method to make removal go a little more efficiently. I am so in love with this collection and know I’ll need to pick up the other shades!
