There are two new Teint Idole Ultra products joining the iconic original liquid formula of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation. The Teint Idole Ultra Foundation is already such an incredible product that it’s hard to imagine Lancôme improving on it with new formulas. Now that I have used the full range I now understand that the new launches are not an attempt to improve on something that was already extraordinary, but rather expand the options available with equally exceptional variations on a fabulous formula.
I was truly shocked to discover that I love all of these formulas almost equally. That seems so crazy to me because my skin is notoriously difficult to please in terms of foundation formulations. I struggle finding foundations that work well with my dry skin and all three of these worked beautifully even with their variations in coverage, finish, and texture.
The Lanôme Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick ($47 US/$53 CAD) offers high coverage with a powder-crème formula that yields a satin matte finish. This was probably my favourite of the three formulas to use because I was so wowed with how incredibly easy it is to blend. I’m not usually a fan of using brushes to apply foundation, (I’m a Beauty Blender girl), but this stick formula blends effortlessly with a brush and there is no concerns of brush streaks or stirring up dry, flaky skin with the silky texture. I used the Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Foundation Brush and the two were an absolute dream combo and a joy to use. I have it in the shade 110 Ivoire (C) which is a cool toned shade. Neutral tones suit me better, so this isn’t a perfect match for me, it is too dark and pink. I am definitely going to have to pick it up in another shade because it it’s a gorgeous formula. There are 20 shades available. I can wear this formula with or without setting powder and it sits beautifully on my skin.
The Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation ($47 US/$55 CAD) is described as a Comforting & Long-Lasting Compact Foundation Cushion With Flawless High-Coverage. It has excellent coverage for a cushion foundation. The formula is so dewy and gorgeous on my dry skin. I’m not a big fan of the sponge that comes with the foundation. I found it too textured to apply the foundation with a patting motion. It does apply it beautifully though with a more sweeping application. I usually use my Beauty Blender to apply it. While this version gives me my favourite finish of the three, I find it the trickiest for me to work with in terms of setting. It doesn’t set on its own and remains very luminous and dewy. I love how it looks but I can’t deal with the transfer and migration into lines if I leave it unset. Because it stays so wet (not tacky just not set) it can sometimes end up looking a little cakey and ruining the finish if I don’t wait a generous amount of time to apply powder and ensure I apply it lightly and gently. It’s worth the little bit of extra effort though because it looks amazing, and it feels so good on my parched skin. Available in 26 shades. It also has an SPF of 50. How amazing is that?! The shade I have is 90 Ivoire N, a perfect match.
The original Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra Foundation ($47 US/$55 CAD) formula is a surprise love affair for me at the moment. I almost think it’s my favourite of the three even though it is the trickiest to make work with my dry skin. I was sent the shade 210 Buff (N) which is too dark for me but I happened to have 100 Ivoire (N) in my stash that I’d purchased last summer. It hadn’t worked out for me then because it was too light but it is perfect for my current winter pale complexion. On well moisturized and prepped skin this hasn’t been accentuating my dry skin at all and it has the most longevity of the three formulas. I am really enjoying the satin matte finish and the fact that even after a long day it doesn’t disappear on my chin and nose.

So there you have it. I have three foundation in my routine that I am rotating on the regular and loving. I highly recommend trying these out. Lancôme know how to create beautiful foundations!
Are you a Teint Idole Ultra liquid fan? Have you tried the new stick or cushion versions yet?
They all look great on you.
Thank you! I thought I was in some sort of alternate universe. Haha I never have this much luck with foundation!
Well, Lisa Eldridge is a fair neutral gal so maybe they have adjusted the line to suit our coloring. Although I rarely wear foundation myself. For me, it’s all about the NuFace, the serums and moisturizers and the sunscreen– and the concealer and brow stuff — along with the rest of the fun part of makeup.
True! I need to check out some of the NuFace stuff. 😀
I think the stick is my fave on you too! They all did such a good job, though!
All 3 look great on you! The liquid and stick foundations are in my rotation. Wth oily skin, the cushion remained wet (more than just tacky) powdering it was a nightmare (done at Sephora by a SA). My favorite was Lancome Nude Miracle, discontined – I’m still lamenting it’s loss and haven’t found a replacement for days when I want less coverage.
I have the original and I do like it but it oxidizes really bad on my skin! I’m definitely curious to try out the new formulas though, especially the stick foundation. I didn’t realize they were releasing this or else I may not have picked up the MUFE foundation stick to use as my next foundation!
