The limited edition NARS Under Cover Summer 2016 Collection is inspired by a getaway to the French Riviera. It features beautiful contemporary illustrations by Konstantin Kakanias on the exterior packaging. I love that each and every item in the collection has it’s own unique packaging. Colour wise the summer collection is all about sheer washes of colour on the eyes and cheeks with saturated colours on the lips.
First up we have the beautiful NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow ($29 US/$38 CAD). Deep End is a shimmering teal green and Tan Lines is a much hazelnut. The other two shades are the seashell pink Topless, and the iridescent periwinkle Pool Shark. As the information on the vision of this collection indicates, the shadows applied dry are sheer washes of shimmering colour, while applied wet they offer more intense colour payoff and sheen.
There are three Lip Cover ($28 US/$36 CAD) shades in the collection and WOW do I ever love these! At first I was expecting another dry ass, look like crap on my lips, matte liquid lipstick but these are not this kind of formula at all. These are intensely saturated, creamy liquid lipsticks with subtle sheen. They feel amazing on the lips, and even though they aren’t a full set matte lipstick, they still offer incredible wear time on me. I adore this formula! I was also nervous the two shades I tested would pull really warm and dark on me, as shades like this tend to do, but they stayed very true to colour and they are very flattering shades.
Overheated is a deep dusty rose and Get Dirty is a desert rose. Also in the collection is the shade Do Not Disturb which is a vivid orange red.
There are two NARS Dual Intensity Blush ($45 US/$58 CAD) duos in the collection. The shades are so, so pretty! Sexual Content (shown) is so versatile because it contains a sandy peach and a soft raspberry shade in one handy palette. Whether you are going for a warm peachy/coral look, or pretty in pink, you can reach for this palette and have the perfect blush shade. So handy for travel too! The shades are sheer washes of glowing colour when applied dry, or they can be applied wet for a more saturated and shimmering hue.
The other duo in the collection is Liberation which has a light shimmering pink and caramel rose. I am dying to see how the caramel rose shade will look as a sort of rosy bronzer on my fair skin. Let me know if you’ve tried it!

Overall I am really loving this collection. I love the effect of the softer, yet colourful tones on the eyes and cheeks with a saturated lip shade.
