The new NARS #NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette ($59 US/74 CAD) for Spring 2017 is a beautiful and versatile palette of mostly warm toned neutrals that is sure to be a go to palette for me this summer.
The packaging is stunning. The gold mirrored palette may be a fingerprint magnet but goodness it’s pretty!
There is a great mix of shades and finishes in this palette. It is one of those palettes that actually has every single shade you need to create a full eye look. That doesn’t happen nearly often enough in my opinion. Windsor is a great all over nude base shade. Dover and Castille give you both warm and neutral toned matte crease shade options. The deep brown and black Montaillou and Reale are there to intensify your lash line and outer corner. Newbury Street is a stunning inner corner highlight. Plus there is a variety of gorgeous shimmering and metallic hues to add interest to your look. NARS really did cover all the bases making this a perfect travel palette.
The 12 shades in the palette are:
- Newbury Street – White gold (Shimmer)
- Windsor – Warm beige (Matte)
- Privilege – Gold (Metallic)
- Dover – Neutral brown (Matte)
- Foix – Peach (Matte)
- Castille – Amber brown (Matte)
- Alnwick – Copper (Shimmer)
- Beaumaris – Chocolate brown (Shimmer)
- Splendor – Pewter (Sparkle)
- Versailles – Bronze (Shimmer)
- Montaillou – Dark brown (Matte)
- Reale – Black (Satin)
This palette really is fantastic. The only thing holding it back from utter perfection is that the eyeshadows aren’t exactly otherworldly. But they are good. Overall the palette has really great quality. Dover and Montaillou are a bit tricky/patchy to work with but the rest of the shades are good to great. I do recommend an eyeshadow primer, because I think everyone should be using one regardless, to get the most out of these shadows both for longevity and color payoff.
The palette is very warm so if you are overtly cool toned I don’t recommend this. But anyone that is neutral to warm is going to get a lot of love out of this palette.
NARS has also expanded their shade offering for the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils ($24 US/$30 CAD). These are such a convenient product because you can line, and then quickly fill in, your lips with this handy chubby pencil. The Velvet Matte formula is really nice. It gives a true matte finish with a silky light texture. It doesn’t have as long a wear time as most matte lip products but what it lacks in wear time it more than makes up for in comfort and convenience.
I have two of the new shades. Get Off (pink beige) and Intriguing (rose pink ). Both are really pretty nude pinks. I love creating a subtle ombre effect with the two shades.
The 10 new shades are available exclusively at Sephora right now and will become available at other NARS retailers on May 1st, 2017.

I have had my eye on this palette and since it’s Sephora VIP sale week,,,I need to decide quick! Love your photos and swatches! Intriguing lip pencil is so lovely,,,the regular Nars satin stays on my lips for 1/2 hr maybe but the mattes have good staying power for me so this might be just what I need!
