I have a few items from the NARS Fall 2016 POWERFALL Collection to share with you today. This collection of refined seasonal shades and signature colours was created by NARS Founder and Creative Director, François Nars.
Cheeks are sculpted to new heights by complexion-enhancing hues from light caramel to espresso. Lids shimmer with shades of iridescent white, rose gold, and deep indigo, while lips go matte in saturated tones of garnet and bordeaux. New Velvet Eyeliners add rich dimension with pigments that glide on smooth and blend evenly, creating the perfect base for smoky lids or a fine line for a bold look.
The collection includes three shades of NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow ($36 CAD).
I have the shade Antares which is an iridescent white gold. This shade is GORGEOUS. It is so pigmented and metallic. I didn’t even bother swatching it wet because it is already so beautifully intense dry. I love this! Perfect for the inner corner or for a dramatically bright lid.
The other shades available (not shown) are:
- Rigel – Shimmering rose gold
- Arcturus – Shimmering deep indigo
For lips there are two new NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils ($33 CAD). I love the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because they are so easy to apply since you line your lips, and then fill in, with the same product. They are very long wearing while being lightweight and comfortable. They are not hydrating in any way but I don’t find they dry out my lips either. I have the limited edition shade Infatuated Red which is an intense garnet red.
The other shade in the collection is Consuming Red which is a deep bordeaux.
For cheeks there are two NARSContour Blush ($54 CAD) duos. I don’t have these to show you but the available shades are:
- Melina – Café au last and Espresso
- Talia – Light caramel and Nutmeg
There are also nine NARS Velvet Eyeliner ($32 CAD) shades in the collection. I sometimes worry when it comes to traditional wooden pencil eyeliners like this, that they will be hard and dry with poor colour payoff. Well all three shades I have are ultra creamy, smooth, and pigmented. Yes! The shades are:
- Black Moon – Black
- Mambo – Rich Hazelnut
- Curaçao – Turquoise Blue
- Kalisté – Teal
- London – Stormy Grey
- Blue Lotus – Periwinkle
- Last Frontier – Espresso
- Las Pozas – White Pearl
- Darklight – Navy
I have Las Pozas, which is a beautiful pearly white. It goes on rather opaquely on the skin. On the waterline it gives a more translucent brightening effect. Mambo is described as a rich hazelnut but I found it to be more of a deep red brown. Almost a burgundy. It’s my fave of the three. Darklight is a lovely dark navy.
