The packaging on the new NARS Charlotte Gainsbourgh Collection is AMAZING. Ugh! I am so in love! It’s a mix of feminine and sophisticated gold with masculane, military khaki.
The collaboration brings together François Nars’ vision of beauty with Charlotte’s signature style. I admit I didn’t know who she was but if this is her style I need to find out more about her!
There’s a new limited edition NARS Lip Tint ($33 CAD) formula as part of the collection that is available in three shades:
- Double Decker – ruby red (shown)
- Éphélide – antique rose (need)
- Promise – red plum
Double Decker is a really pretty sheer red that just gives lips a glossy flush of subtle red and leaves a bit of a stain behind. I quite like this formula. It feels really light, silky, and hydrating on the lips.
There are two limited edition NARS Velvet Duo Eyeshadows ($43 CAD) in the collection:
- Old Church Street -Golden Champagne and Deep Slate Teal
- Rue Allent – (shown) Shimmering Frost and Deep Forest Green
Rue Allent features a really pretty, yet somewhat sheer, frosty white, and a deep forest green that basically looks like a sooty black except under the perfect lighting conditions where you can see the subtlest hint of green. I would have to say, aside from the packaging, that this duo is a miss. The colours just aren’t that eye catching and the deep green applies rather patchy and is difficult to blend even over a base shadow.
Also in the collection are beautifully packaged, limited edition, Multiples, Kohliners, Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, a Hydrating Glow Tint, and the most gorgeous Au Poil Brush Roll ($220 CAD) which includes five, full-size limited-edition brushes, each of which has a unique handle all in a custom leather brush roll.
