Today the Makeup Wars team is sharing our Latest Beauty Obsession. Mine is the newly released, for Summer 2015, Urban Decay Afterglow Blush ($26 US/$31 CAD). More specifically my obsession is the shade Obsessed from the Afterglow blush line.
The packaging of the Afterglow blushes is fantastic. The gunmetal effect compact is lightweight and secures with a strong magnetic closure. The lid of the compact has a fishnet design that can be seen, along with the blush shade beneath, through the UD cutout on the outside of the lid. The entire back label is in the shade of the blush within to make finding your shade in your collection easy.
There are a total of 12 shades available. I have 4 of them to share with you today.
Fetish – medium pink nude. This matte blush is a beautiful, flattering everyday shade. The nude mauve pink shade looks gorgeous on my fair skin.
Obsessed – light pink. This light cool pink is my absolute favourite new blush. It is such a bright and fresh colour. Even though it is a matte blush it makes my cheeks glow as if lit from within.
Rapture – deep mauve with hint of shimmer. This blush is so stunning. The shimmer give just the subtlest glow. I think the shade is fairly unique and I love the almost sun kissed quality the deep mauve shade has. Like my skin when it has it’s burned tan effect going on.
Bang – bright red orange. Hot damn! This is one hot blush. It is beyond gorgeous. Just look at how it looks like it is glowing in the pan. It blends so beautifully into the skin. I think if you have a deeper skin tone this blush is an absolute MUST. But even for someone with skin as fair is mine the blush is a dream to work with because the Afterglow Blush formula is so exceptional.
The formula is delightful. Smooth texture that melds beautifully with the skin giving even the matte shades a natural satin glow like skin. The pigmentation is fantastic and the blushes have great colour payoff and blend effortlessly. The last about 6-8 hours before I get a bit of fading. Even after a 12+ hour day the blush is still only moderately faded.
I know I’m going to need more of these. Not to mention I want to add some to my kit. Especially Obsessed and Bang. I think next on my list will be Bitter Sweet, Quickie, and Quiver! Have you tried the new Urban Decay Blush yet? What is your favourite?
