If you read Perilously Pale at all then you will know I have very dry skin. It is pretty much the bane of my existence. When you have dry skin it makes enjoying your passion for makeup that much more difficult as it seems like everything you apply makes you look like a dried out mess. While I receive many skincare press samples, and I have tried many oils I’ve enjoyed, I was still searching for one that would really, really, really hydrate my skin. I just wanted some relief and for my skin to actually start improving rather than just managing it. I started doing some research and ended up purchasing the Collagenesis by SKINN Lipid Infusion Moisturizing Face Oil ($45 US/$52.50 CAD) from The Shopping Channel after reading a lot of great reviews and being wooed by the impressive ingredient listing.

This facial oil includes an impressive blend of their Essential Omega and Lipid Infusion, a blend of Omega 3, 6, 7 & 9, Ceramides, Vitamins D & E, a Sunflower Seed Cake, Barley and Cucumber extract blend, as well as Seabuckthorn, Cranberry, Olive, Rosemary, Dilo, Marula and Grapeseed Oils. It is very concentrated. It promoted being non greasy but I do find it does have an oil feel (of course) but it does absorb beautifully into my skin. On the areas of my skin that don’t touch my pillow during the night I can still feel it’s presence in the morning. For me this is a huge bonus, others may feel differently. Mind you I do apply a generous amount. This really does leave my skin glowing and healthy looking. It has healed much of the flakiness and rough texture on my driest areas. The only drawback is that it is quite rich so I do find I break out into tiny whiteheads in a couple of my trouble areas after extended use. To rectify this I’ve tried to start applying a bit less, and every other day avoid nose where I often breakout. I certainly don’t recommend this particular oil for combo and oily skin types but if you are struggling with dryness, and love richly hydrating products, you will love this. I like to apply it after my moisturizer as the last step in my beauty routine. Next to try is mixing it with some of my foundations to keep me looking glowing and fresh throughout the day.
I have used over half of the 30ml bottle which says a lot. With the amount of products I test it is not often I stick with something long enough to start “hitting pan” shall we say.

I also love that this oil comes with a pump rather than a dropper. I find it so much more convenient to use! Especially when I have the bad habit of not screwing the caps back on dropper bottles after I’ve used them.
